We hear your heart and we stand with you in this struggle against putting things off, and we join you in praying for breakthrough over fear and every hindrance in Jesus' name. We are thankful you called on the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have confidence to come before the Father.
We know how easy it is to delay what we know we should do, especially when fear or anxiety about the outcome weighs on us. Scripture speaks directly to this. The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied Proverbs 13:4. And Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. Procrastination often grows from fear of failure or feeling overwhelmed, but God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We also take seriously what the Word says, To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin James 4:17, and Therefore watch carefully how you walk, not as unwise, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil Ephesians 5:15-16. Delay can rob us of the peace and provision God wants to give, while diligence and trust open the door to His profit and purpose, as The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit Proverbs 21:5.
We want to gently rebuke the spirit of fear and delay that has held you back, not to condemn you but to call you forward in love. Fear is not from the Lord, and putting off what God has placed before you can become a hindrance to the good work He wants to do through you. We encourage you to bring every anxious thought to Him, for In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.
Together we pray. Father, we lift up our brother and sister to You in the mighty name of Jesus. We ask You to break off every chain of procrastination, fear, heaviness and distraction. Fill this heart with Your power, love and self-control. Grant clarity of mind, discipline to act promptly, and courage to prepare diligently for this job interview. We pray You would guide every word spoken in that interview, that Your favor would rest upon this opportunity if it is Your will, and that You would open the right doors and close the wrong ones. Help us to do whatever our hand finds to do with all our might Ecclesiastes 9:10, trusting that we can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us Philippians 4:13. Let Your peace guard this heart and let this be a season of breakthrough and faithful stewardship of time and gifts. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest confession has been heard and it is one that many gracious souls might make with you. To put things off, to delay, to linger when duty calls, is a common infirmity of our nature, and it is well that you see it and would be delivered from it.
There is a fear at the bottom of much of this delay, and fear is a poor master. Scripture says, Fear not, for I am with thee. Fear not, for I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm Jacob. The command is absolute and without qualification, Fear thou not, be not dismayed. Fear is weakening and it dishonours God, for it whispers that the arm which piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth could be palsied, and that He who has promised to help will forget His promise. But perfect love casteth out fear, for fear hath torment, and where Christ is trusted, fear must flee.
You ask, Will He plead against me with His great power, and will my infirmity and my sloth provoke Him. Hear the answer of faith, No, but He will put strength in me. That very power which you dread is now your refuge and your hope, for He will lend you His omnipotence. You are weak, but He will put strength into you. You are fearful, but He Himself whispers, Fear not. It is not the preacher who says it only, but Jesus Himself who says to His servant fallen as dead at His feet, Fear not.
Labour then to get rid of fear as much as possible by trusting in promised strength. The Lord does not call you to go in your own strength to this interview and to the duties you have delayed. He calls you to go in His. Look to Him for divine support. As Job was upheld in great trial so that he sinned not nor charged God foolishly, so may you be upheld in this smaller trial, that you may not sin by sloth or unbelief, but may do what your hand finds to do with diligence, redeeming the time.
Therefore, stir up yourself to action in dependence upon grace. Seek the Lord in prayer and then do the next thing. Make no more provision for delay. Prepare for that interview as a steward who must give account, doing it heartily as unto the Lord and not unto men. Let prayer and preparation go together, for faith without works is dead, and works without faith cannot please God.
We will pray for you, that the Lord will chase away all fear and hindrance, that He will put strength in you and grant you a spirit of power and of love and of a sound mind, that He will help you to overcome this habit of putting off and to walk in diligence and sobriety, and that in this matter of employment He will order your steps according to His wisdom and mercy.
O Lord our God, look upon this Thy servant who confesses delay and feels fear. Forgive all sloth and unbelief and put Thy fear in his heart that he may not depart from Thee. You have named honestly what many struggle with, putting things off and delaying what needs to be done, and the fear that can hold us back. Scripture warns us about sloth and procrastination and calls us instead to diligence. As it has been taught, zeal does not require much time or delay, but a willing heart to begin, and we are urged to enter the narrow way and not remain in indolence. We are also reminded to act without procrastination and without delay, laying aside heaviness and moving forward with purpose.
Fear too is something the Lord addresses directly. He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. Christ casts out fear, not only by comfort but by His presence and His promises, and He strengthens us to bear what comes and to speak and act with courage. When we turn to Him, He quiets the agitation of our souls and gives hope for what lies ahead.
So I pray for you in Jesus name, that God would lift every hindrance and break the pattern of delay in your life. May He grant you grace to overcome sloth and to walk in diligence, to redeem the time and do what He has set before you today. May He take away fear and fill you with confidence in Him, remembering that He is with you and for you. For your coming job interview, I pray that the Lord would give you clarity of mind, peace in your heart, preparation on your lips, and favor before those who interview you. May He guide your steps, open the right door according to His will, and help you to prepare faithfully and appear with courage.
