🙏 Pursue Love 1 Cor 14:1, Love Abounds in Discernment, Wisdom to Choose Highest Phil 1:9-11, Constantly Knowing God Better Serving w/Joy Col 1:9-12

Beloved of All
🙏 Father thank You for demonstrating Your love for us was so great -- that while we were sinners -- You gave Your Only Son, The Christ, to die for us, Rom 5:8, that we might believe in Him, not perish, but have everlasting life, Jn 3:16. Help us freely receive a fresh and new reminder of that great love again (even as it has already been shed abroad in our hearts by The Holy Spirit, Rom 5:5). Much more now shall we be saved by His Life! Rom 5:9-10. We ask let Your love abound in us (and our love for You abound and overflow toward others, Acts 4:31, Eph 5:18) in all knowledge of God and true discernment, Wisdom to Choose highest of all possible options, that we may be sincere and without mixture, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which come through Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of You, His and our one true Father, Phil 1:9-11. Fill us with the knowledge of Your will and all that results from that, namely a walk worthy of Jesus' Name, pleasing You every way, abiding fruit in all good works, growing by increasingly knowing You more deeply, strengthened with all power, according to the might of Your glory, for the attaining of all consistency, joyously giving thanks at all times for for qualifying us to share in the inheritance of the saints-in-light, Col 1:9-12.

🙇🏻 Perfect Father, we are admonished to pursue love, AND earnestly desire its expression through spiritual gifts, especially the edification of Christ's church, 1 Cor 14:1. We ask again in accord with the apostolic prayers, asking, “May our love abound in all knowledge and intense discernment, so we may distinguish between things that differ (see and choose those things which are highest, most excellent, and different from all earthly things -- God's perfect will, way and timing -- which transforms us by the renewing of our minds, as test and approve what the will of God is, that which is good, acceptable and perfect, c.f. Rom 12:2), in order to be sincere and blameless (without anything in our lives that can give offense to The Gospel, or cause our own faith to "hiccup" but rather remain steadfast), Phil 1:9-11, (See Matt 5:45, where we show ourselves to be children of Our Father in Heaven [who is Perfect, Matt 5:48], and Lk 6:35, where we will be called Children of The Most High, consistently bearing His image more clearly, 2 Cor 3:8, by showing what He is really like), Gen 1:27, 1 Cor 15:49.

Father, we are "always praying that we may stand PERFECTLY ASSURED in ALL the WILL OF GOD," Col 4:12. We ask for PRACTICAL WISDOM, James 1:5, Prov 2:6-7, and our inheritance as CHILDREN to be LED by The Holy Spirit, Rom 8:14, in PATHS of RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUSTICE, Prov 8:20, HEARING THE VOICE of JESUS, The Lord OUR SHEPHERD, Jn 10:4-5, 27.

Thank you for angels "sent forth to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation,” Heb 1:14, Ps 91:11-12. Keep us from temptation, Lk 11:4, sin, 2 Cor 13:7, Ps 119:2-3, wrongdoing, lies and fear, Zeph 3:13, and let us cease from sin, 1 Cor 15:34, 1 Peter 4:1-2, 1 John 3:9. Lead us not into temptation but rather deliver us from evil, Matt 6:13, and "see to it no one deceives us," Mt 24:4, for evil influences, Matt 24:12, evil people and imposters proceed from bad to worse in the last days, deceiving and being deceived, 2 Tim 3:13, keep us from those who claim to know God but by their deeds deny Him, Tit 1:16, have a form of godliness but deny it's power, in fact let us turn away from such as these, 2 Tim 3:5, again, keep us from evil people and the evil one, 2 Thes 3:2-3. We pray like Jesus, not that You take us out of the world, but rather You keep us from the evil one, John 17:15, lead us not into temptation, but rather keep us from the evil one, Matt 6:13. Grant favor as a shield, Ps 5:12, as we thank You in advance, Mk 11:24, and may the peace of God that passes comprehension guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:6-7, 2 in whom all the promises are yes and amen, Cor 1:20. In Jesus' Name, Jn 14:13-14.

We come before You, Heavenly Father, with hearts full of gratitude for the profound truth that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). This love, so deep, so sacrificial, is the foundation of our faith and the reason we can stand before You today. We rejoice in the assurance that because we have been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him (Romans 5:9). Thank You for the gift of eternal life, freely given to all who believe in Your Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16). It is only through His name that we have access to You, Father, and it is only by His name that we are saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. If anyone reading this has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we urge you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the first and most critical step in walking in the fullness of Your will.

Father, we echo the prayer of the apostle Paul, asking that our love may abound more and more in knowledge and all discernment (Philippians 1:9). We desire to approve the things that are excellent, that we may be sincere and without offense until the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to Your glory and praise (Philippians 1:10-11). Fill us, Lord, with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that we may walk worthy of You, fully pleasing You, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You (Colossians 1:9-10). Strengthen us with all might according to Your glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy (Colossians 1:11). We long to be led by Your Spirit, for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God (Romans 8:14). Guide us in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3), and let us hear the voice of our Shepherd, for we know His voice and follow Him (John 10:4, 27).

We are admonished to pursue love and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, especially those that edify the church (1 Corinthians 14:1). Father, we ask that You would grant us the wisdom to discern Your perfect will, that we may choose the highest and most excellent things, transforming our minds to test and approve what is good, acceptable, and perfect (Romans 12:2). Let us be blameless and sincere, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom we shine as lights in the world (Philippians 2:15). May we reflect Your image more clearly each day, bearing the fruits of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Let us walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love (Ephesians 4:1-2).

Father, we stand on the promise that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask of You, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to us (James 1:5). We ask for practical wisdom to navigate the complexities of life, that we may walk in paths of righteousness and justice (Proverbs 8:20). Keep us from temptation and deliver us from the evil one (Matthew 6:13). We pray that You would guard our hearts and minds with the peace that surpasses all understanding, as we present our requests to You with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6-7). Thank You for the angels You have sent to minister to us, who are heirs of salvation (Hebrews 1:14). Let them encamp around us and deliver us from all harm (Psalm 91:11-12).

We recognize the times we live in, Father, and we ask that You would keep us from deception. There are those who claim to know You but deny You by their deeds (Titus 1:16), and others who have a form of godliness but deny its power (2 Timothy 3:5). We turn away from such people, as Your Word instructs us. Deliver us from evil people and the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:2-3), and let us not be deceived by those who distort the truth (Matthew 24:4). Keep our hearts pure and our minds steadfast, that we may cease from sin and live for the will of God (1 Peter 4:1-2). Let us not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2).

Father, we thank You in advance for the answers to our prayers, for we know that whatever we ask in Jesus’ name, He will do it, that You may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13-14). We stand on the promise that all Your promises are "Yes" and "Amen" in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20). May Your favor surround us as a shield (Psalm 5:12), and may we walk in the fullness of Your will, bringing glory and praise to Your name. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

It’s beautiful to see you pressing into the apostolic prayers with such earnestness, asking that love not remain a sentiment but become your sharp, practical wisdom for choosing what is highest. That very desire to distinguish between the many possible paths and to take the one that pleases God most is already evidence of the Spirit’s work in you.

We have found that learning to walk in real-time discernment often feels less like receiving a sudden download and more like a slow training, small, daily choices where we step toward what is pure and excellent, and over time we begin to recognize the Shepherd’s voice more readily. The humility you show in asking again for what God has already begun to give you is a sign of health, not lack.

Father, thank You that You have not left us to figure out the highest way on our own. We ask You to quiet every competing voice and let Your love within us become a steady, inner compass. Grant us that intense discernment that doesn’t just avoid evil but spots what is excellent and runs after it. When we stand before a decision, large or small, give us clarity about which choice will make us more sincere, more blameless, and more fruitful for Your glory. We trust that the same Spirit who shed Your love abroad in our hearts will faithfully lead us in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake, in Jesus’ name.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You will pine after great gifts, long for higher usefulness, moan for sweeter fellowship, but you will not be satisfied until you come back to the love you have left. You ask to be filled with knowledge, to abound in discernment, to choose the highest and walk in the paths of righteousness. All this is good, let none despise it. But what is the spring of all true obedience? What is the fountain of all heartfelt service? It is love. Love to the Person of Christ. You may set your sails for every excellent thing, but if the wind of love does not fill them, you shall lie becalmed upon a sea of profession and make no headway toward the haven of His likeness.

You plead the apostolic prayers, desiring to be sincere and without offense, to have a walk worthy of the Lord. But I would have you look deep within, for there is a declension that eats out the heart of piety while its outward form remains. When first love cools, you will do less for Christ, and soon you will count it a great thing to do but little. You will cease from labors not because strength fails, but because the holy flame of affection for the Beloved has sunk low. Your heavenly Father will not suffer this to continue unchecked. Bastards may escape the rod, but true-born children are chastened when their love grows cold. Would you have God act as if He did not care for the chill of your heart? He loves you too well to let you wander far without a stripe to fetch you home.

Look again to the character of God's love. You ask for a fresh reminder of it, and that is a right request. But perceive how His love is not a soft thing that winks at sin. The climax of His love is a jealous vengeance upon the idols of our soul. He will take away the names of the Baalim out of our mouth. Every sin, every false confidence, every wayward affection that has intruded itself into the place due to Christ alone, His love will wage war against it. Your prayer to be kept from evil, from the very appearance of it, from the deceivers and the form of godliness without power, is not a small thing. It is a cry that summons the purging work of love. You cannot embrace the Crucified and snuggle also into the bosom of this present world. The Lord will deliver you from evil, but it will often be by making the evil taste bitter in your mouth and showing you the gall of it, so that you spit it out forever.

You speak much of knowing God's will, of being led by the Spirit, of hearing the Shepherd's voice. Hear then this word from the Lord: the proud heart that boasts "I will go, I will do, I will gain" commits evil, for it leaves God out of its calculations. The teachable spirit alone is led aright. God must give you a teachable spirit, and where does He school such souls? In the sacred pages of His Word. You search the Scriptures, and you do well; but do you love them? The lover of God's law finds great peace, and nothing shall offend him. Prosperity does not puff him up, for he remembers from whom it came. Adversity does not cast him down, for he knows who sends it. If you love the Word, you will cease from covetousness and learn acquiescence in the divine will. It is vain to quarrel with the Most High; resignation brings peace. You cannot force your own wisdom to conform to every shifting wind; but if you love His statutes, they shall be a lamp to your feet and a song in your heart even in the night season.

See to it, then, that your requests are not merely words polished by many citations, good though they be. Let the marrow of them be this: "Lord, restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation, and renew a right spirit within me. Rekindle my first love, for without it I am as a tinkling cymbal. I perceive Thy love to me, and I would love Thee in return, in life, in death, and forever." The world, the flesh, and the devil will seek to draw you off, but the Lord who has betrothed you to Himself in faithfulness will hold you fast. He will come to your deliverance. He will give back the vineyards of joy which for a season He seemed to strip bare. Trust Him for the keeping you have asked, trust Him for the guidance you crave, and seek above all that the love of Christ may constrain you afresh, for that is the golden oil which feeds the flame of all true devotion.

You speak much of love abounding, of knowledge, of discernment, of choosing the highest things. But examine what you have written. You are like a man who desires a feast not for the nourishment but for the sensation of being full. You plead for love to overflow, for power, for a constant, joyous assurance, for the very inheritance of the saints to be tasted now. Yet the love God commands is not first a feeling to be enjoyed but a command to be obeyed. You seek to be filled with the fruits of righteousness, which is good, but you speak as a hireling who will not be self-controlled unless he is given a reward. You think you are pursuing love, but you are in danger of pursuing a spiritual high. Is your love one that would remain steadfast if all feeling of it were withdrawn? Could you love your enemy, or bear a wrong in silence, and call that the abundance you seek? For the love that abounds in knowledge is not a giddy, grasping thing. It is a love that makes distinctions. You pray for knowledge and discernment, yet you heap up requests with an almost reckless abandon, as if the multiplication of words and verses could secure what only a humble and obedient heart can receive. True knowledge of God begins not with soaring but with the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom. And the beginning of folly is a haughtiness that does not know its place. Your prayer reads as a soul striving to ascend above the stars, to take hold of the world like a nest, demanding that God fill you now, perfectly, joyously. But virtue is not a heavy, burdensome thing to be pursued for its reward. It is to be loved for itself, which is to love God. You wish to be led by the Spirit in paths of righteousness, but the Spirit leads often into the desert of temptation, into the company of the weak and the offensive, into the quiet endurance of wrong. You pray to be kept from evil men, yet the apostle did not pray to be taken out of the world but to be kept from the evil one while remaining in it. You are not called to flee all roughness but to walk worthy of the Lord in it.

You say you are pursuing love according to the apostle’s word. Then hear what that same apostle teaches: the measure of love is to stop nowhere, but this love is not a blind affection that treats all alike. It is a love with judgment, with reason. Your petition, for all its scriptural language, has the scent of a love that seeks its own fullness. You ask to be sincere and without offence, to choose the highest, to have the mind of Christ. Do you not see that this very seeking for the highest experience can be the offence? The highest choice is often invisible to the one seeking a sign. It is to remain in a difficult marriage, to speak truth to a friend who will hate you for it, to pray for those who despitefully use you without feeling any warmth in your heart. That is to love God, for you are obeying His law. You are benefiting not your enemy, but yourself. You are not loving a feeling; you are obeying God. The wisdom of God seems foolishness to those who are perishing, but their own wisdom, which craves this constant, sensible overflow of power and joy, is foolishness indeed.

Cast out from your soul this feverish desire to be constantly filled and to constantly know. It is a subtle form of recklessness, a departure from the sober reason of the gospel. The hidden wisdom of God is not learned by demanding it; it is given to the perfect, and the perfect are those who have learned to be content with the hiddenness itself. You seek to be guarded by the peace that passes understanding. But you will not find it by straining after it. You will find it by doing the next humble duty that lies before you, by bearing with a tedious brother, by confessing a grumbling thought, by receiving whatever God gives, even if it is dryness and a sense of His absence, as from His hand. You want to laugh covetousness to scorn by desiring the kingdom. Do so, then, by desiring the King alone, not the consolations He gives. Make your love abound simply by obeying. The joy you seek will, perhaps, be added; but if it is not, you will have loved God for nothing, which is the truest love of all.

Your prayer, woven from so much Scripture, reaches toward things that are genuinely of the Spirit. You have asked that love would abound in all knowledge and discernment so you can approve what is excellent. That right there is the heartbeat of a mature walk. It is not enough to simply have love, nor is it enough to simply have knowledge. Love without discernment can become a sentimental feeling that leads the heart astray. Knowledge without love puffs up and hardens the soul. The gift you are asking for is that your love would be governed by a sharp, Spirit-given perception, able to distinguish between things that look similar but are worlds apart, choosing the path that pleases the Lord and builds up His church.

You mentioned pursuing love while earnestly desiring spiritual gifts. That is the divine order. The very first pursuit, before any expression of power or speech, must be love itself, the self-sacrificing, giving love that is the very nature of God. This is not a love that originates in our emotions or our natural affections. It was demonstrated once for all when the Father gave His Son for us while we were still sinners. When the Spirit pours that love into our hearts, He is not giving us a warm feeling. He is placing within us the nature of Christ, so that we might see people as He sees them and give ourselves for them as He did.

To have that love abound in all discernment means you walk with a practical wisdom that goes beyond knowing facts. True wisdom knows what to do with knowledge. It takes the facts of a situation and the truth of God’s Word and directs you to the correct action. A person can have a great deal of biblical information and still make a shipwreck of their life because they lack this. The starting place for it remains the fear of the Lord. That reverent awe, that hating of evil, positions you to receive instruction and to be led in paths of righteousness. Wisdom is crying out still, not in secret, but in the open streets of our daily decisions, offering to make known her words to those who will listen.

This wisdom from above is pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated. If a so-called wisdom leads you toward envy, strife, or boasting, it is not from God but is earthly, sensual, even demonic. You are asking to be kept from deception and the evil one, and that is precisely the protection that heavenly wisdom provides. It will never lead you to rationalize sin or to touch what is unclean. It leads you in the way of righteousness, and all her paths are peace. When you walk there, you stand perfectly assured in the will of God, not because you have everything figured out, but because you are following the Shepherd’s voice and He knows the way.

As this love is perfected in you, something profound happens. You stop loving only those who love you back, which anyone can do. Instead, you find the Spirit empowering you to love in impossible situations, even toward those who have wronged you. In that, you bear the family resemblance, showing you are a child of your Father in heaven. Do not be discouraged when that feels beyond your own ability. It is. That is why you must pray, just as you have, for strength according to His glorious might. He does not cross your will, but as you yield, He works in you, making what was once unnatural become the genuine fruit of His Spirit indwelling you.

Rest in this: you did not merely ask for riches or fame, but for wisdom and for love to be upheld in the light of God’s highest will. That request pleases Him. And as you continue in that pursuit, He will faithfully supply what you have not even thought to ask, guarding your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Let His love be the current that carries you, and let His wisdom be the rudder. And as you go, you will increasingly know Him, joyously giving thanks, because He has already qualified you for the inheritance.
