Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have set your heart on a high and noble pursuit, desiring that love abound in all knowledge and discernment. This is indeed the path of wisdom, for true love is not a blind impulse but a fire fed by the knowledge of God. Yet consider carefully what it means to love as God loves. It is easy to love those who love us in return, to pour out affection on family and friends and the household of faith. But the love that is from God, the love shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, does not stop there. It stretches itself toward enemies, toward those who are vile and unprofitable by nature, not because they deserve it, but because we are becoming like our Father in heaven. If you would pursue love, then pursue it to the furthest reach. Pity the heretic, weep for the unbeliever, wear yourself out in prayer for those who despitefully use you. This is to be a child of the Most High, not by working wonders, but by showing mercy. And when you ask for discernment to choose the highest things, remember that the highest choice is often to suffer wrong rather than to do it. The world counts it victory to get even, but the victory that comes from God is won by patience and long-suffering.

You have prayed to be filled with the knowledge of His will, to walk worthy of the Lord, and to be strengthened with all power. These are apostolic prayers, and they are answered in a life that loves His appearing. To love Christ’s appearing is not merely to long for the last day, but to live now in such a way that He comes and makes His abode with you. How does He come? He says, “If a man love Me, he will keep My words, and My Father and I will come unto him.” So if you truly desire His indwelling, let there be nothing in your life unworthy of His presence. Cast away every secret sin, every hidden compromise, every thought that would make Him turn His face. This is not a matter of mere feeling but of relentless, joyful obedience. You are kept not by your own strength but by the power of God, yet you must supply your own diligence. The grace of baptism cleansed you once, but to remain pure, to stand perfectly assured in all the will of God, requires a daily watchfulness over your soul. The strait and narrow way is lined with tribulations, and all who live godly will suffer some form of persecution. Do not be surprised when afflictions come; they are the Tutor’s rod to keep you from straying.

Be on your guard, then, against the subtle poison of spiritual pride. You have prayed for wisdom, and the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. The beginning of folly is to forget Him and to trust in your own understanding. When men grow haughty and reckless, they speak and act like fools, even if they clothe themselves in Scripture. Nebuchadnezzar boasted of his throne, Pharaoh hardened his heart, and the fool said in his heart there is no God. Take care that your pursuit of the highest things does not tip over into a secret contempt for those who seem less zealous or less knowledgeable. The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated. Boast only in the Lord, for what do you have that you did not receive? Paul himself, who wished himself accursed for his brethren’s sake, did so not from fleshly attachment but from a burning jealousy for God’s glory. So let your love for the church, your prayers for the saints, and your longing for the conversion of sinners spring from a deep desire to see God honored and His promises vindicated. Love for God’s sake, and you will find that even when men straiten their affections toward you, you have a refuge of joy that no sorrow can diminish. Make room in your heart for all, forgive freely, and walk in the lowliness that invites the Spirit’s power. So shall you attain the inheritance of the saints in light, with joyful thanksgiving.

Your prayer rises with such clarity and trust. The way you press into the apostolic prayers, for love to abound in real knowledge and sharp discernment, for a walk worthy of the Lord, for joy-filled patience and strength, reflects a heart genuinely set on the highest things. That longing to approve what is excellent, to be sincere and without offense, is not something the flesh produces. It is the Spirit of God stirring within you.

What anchors all of this, as you already acknowledge, is the love of God poured out for sinners. Romans 5:8 stands as the unshakable foundation. Because He loved us when we were still enemies, we can freely receive that same love and then pursue it, not as a vague sentiment, but as the very character of Christ formed in us. And you are right to tie that pursuit directly to the edification of the church and the expression of spiritual gifts. Love is not passive; it serves.

I want to encourage you in your request for practical wisdom, for being led by the Spirit in paths of righteousness. That prayer is heard. Scripture tells us plainly that the fear of the Lord, that reverent awe and hatred of evil, is the beginning of wisdom. To depart from evil, that is understanding. This is not a fear that cringes, but one that gladly submits to His authority because we trust His goodness. As you seek to discern the highest and best, to choose what pleases Him, you are standing right on that ground. Wisdom is not merely information; it is a Person to be known, and knowing Him increasingly, as you pray from Colossians, is what transforms our choices.

Sometimes the path of highest love and truest wisdom leads through things we do not understand. You prayed that you may stand perfectly assured in all the will of God. That assurance often deepens not when every puzzle is solved, but when we learn that His will is better than our own understanding. There is a kind of faith that can say, "I do not see what You are doing, and my feelings may protest, but I know that Your will for me is good. Not my will, but Yours be done." That posture is far more precious to Him than a life of easy answers. The purpose of prayer is not finally to get our will done, but to get His will done in us and through us, because His wisdom is infinitely broader, seeing the end from the beginning.

Your request for protection from the evil one, for deliverance from deception, and for the peace of God to guard your heart is deeply in line with the Lord's own prayer in John 17. He keeps us in the world but from the evil one. The enemy constantly whispers shortcuts, immediate fulfillment without the cross, a form of godliness that denies its power. But the path of love, the path of the Spirit, remains the path of self-denial and following Jesus. That is where genuine joy is found, where fruit remains.

Keep praying with the boldness you have shown. Ask for the filling of the Spirit, for love to overflow with discernment, for strength to endure with patience. Expect that as you draw near, His wisdom will clear away confusion and His peace will stand sentry over your heart and mind. He will not cast away the one who walks uprightly before Him, not because that walk is perfect in itself, but because it is anchored in Christ, who is our righteousness. Continue to give thanks that He has qualified you for the inheritance of the saints, and live in the joyful certainty that He who began this good work in you will complete it.

We are deeply grateful for the privilege of standing with you in prayer as you seek to grow in love, discernment, and the knowledge of God’s will. It has been our joy to lift up your heartfelt requests before our Heavenly Father, asking Him to fill you with His wisdom, strengthen you with His power, and guide you into a walk worthy of Christ’s name. We have prayed that His love would abound in you more and more, that you would bear the fruits of righteousness, and that you would consistently know and serve Him with joy.

If you have seen God’s hand at work in these areas—if His love has overflowed in your life, if His wisdom has guided your steps, or if His peace has guarded your heart—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Please share how He has answered so that we may rejoice with you. If, however, you are still waiting and longing for His touch in these matters, we want you to know that we stand ready to continue praying alongside you. Do not hesitate to post this request again, for we are committed to interceding for you until you see His promises fulfilled.

May the Lord bless you richly as you press deeper into His heart, trusting in His perfect timing and unfailing love. May you be filled afresh with the knowledge of His will, strengthened by His might, and filled with the joy of His presence. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
