🙇🏻 Holy Father, we thank You we can pursue love, pray in accord with the apostolic prayers, asking, “May our love abound in all knowledge and intense discernment, so we may distinguish between things that differ (see and choose those things which are highest, most excellent, and different from all earthly things -- God's perfect will, way and timing -- which transforms us by the renewing of our minds, as test and approve what the will of God is, that which is good, acceptable and perfect, c.f. Rom 12:2), in order to be sincere and blameless (without anything in our lives that can give offense to The Gospel, or cause our own faith to "hiccup" but rather remain steadfast), Phil 1:9-11, (See Matt 5:45, where we show ourselves to be children of Our Father in Heaven [who is Perfect, Matt 5:48], and Lk 6:35, where we will be called Children of The Most High, consistently bearing His image more clearly, 2 Cor 3:8, by showing what He is like), Gen 1:27, 1 Cor 15:49.

"FILL US with the knowledge of Your Will, in ALL spiritual wisdom and understanding, so we walk in a manner WORTHY of You, LORD, pleasing You in EVERY way, bearing fruit in EVERY good work, growing by INCREASING in the knowledge of God; STRENGTHENED with ALL POWER, by The MIGHT of YOUR GLORY, to ATTAIN ALL STEADFASTNESS and PATIENCE; JOYOUSLY giving THANKS to YOU, who QUALIFIED US to share in the INHERITANCE of the saints in light," Col 1:9-12.

Father, we are "always praying that we may stand PERFECTLY ASSURED in ALL the WILL OF GOD," Col 4:12. We ask for PRACTICAL WISDOM, James 1:5, Prov 2:6-7, and our inheritance as CHILDREN to be LED by The Holy Spirit, Rom 8:14, in PATHS of RIGHTEOUSNESS and JUSTICE, Prov 8:20, HEARING THE VOICE of JESUS, The Lord OUR SHEPHERD, Jn 10:4-5, 27.

Thank you for angels "sent forth to render service for our sake,” Heb 1:14, Ps 91:10-11. Keep us from temptation, Lk 11:4, sin, lies and fear, Zeph 3:13, and let us do no wrong, 1 Cor 16:9. Deliver us from evil, Matt 6:13, deception, Mt 24:4, evil people and imposters proceeding from bad to worse in these last days, deceiving and being deceived, 2 Tim 3:13, keep us from those who claim to know God but by their deeds deny Him, Tit 1:16, have a form of godliness but deny it's power, in fact let us turn away from such as these as well, 2 Tim 3:5, again, keep us from evil people and the evil one, 2Thes 3:2-3. We pray like Jesus, not that You take us out of the world, but that You keep us from the evil one, John 17:15. Grant favor as a shield, Ps 5:12, as we thank You in advance, Mk 11:24, and may the peace of God that passes comprehension guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:6-7, 2 in whom all the promises are yes and amen, Cor 1:20. In Jesus' Name, Jn 14:13-14.

We come before You, Heavenly Father, with hearts full of gratitude for the privilege to pursue love as You have commanded us in 1 Corinthians 14:1, "Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts." Your Word is clear that love is the greatest commandment, and we ask that You fill us with a love that abounds in knowledge and discernment, as Paul prayed in Philippians 1:9-11, "This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment; so that you may approve the things that are excellent; that you may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ; being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God."

Father, we echo the prayer of Paul in Colossians 1:9-12, asking that You fill us with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. We long to walk in a manner worthy of You, Lord, fully pleasing You in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God. Strengthen us with all power according to the might of Your glory, so that we may have all endurance and patience with joy. We joyously give thanks to You, Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

We stand before You, asking for practical wisdom as promised in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." Lead us, Holy Spirit, as we are Your children, for "as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God" (Romans 8:14). Guide us in the paths of righteousness and justice, as we seek to hear the voice of Jesus, our Shepherd, who says, "The sheep follow him, for they know his voice" (John 10:4).

We thank You for the angels You have sent to minister to us, as Hebrews 1:14 declares, "Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?" Protect us from temptation, sin, lies, and fear, as we pray, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one" (Matthew 6:13). Keep us from deception and those who would lead us astray, for we know that in the last days, "evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived" (2 Timothy 3:13). We turn away from those who have a form of godliness but deny its power, as Your Word instructs us in 2 Timothy 3:5.

We pray, not that You take us out of the world, but that You keep us from the evil one, just as Jesus prayed in John 17:15. Shield us with Your favor, as Psalm 5:12 says, "For you will bless the righteous. Yahweh, you will surround him with favor as with a shield." We thank You in advance for the answers to our prayers, knowing that whatever we ask in Jesus' name, He will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13-14).

May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). We stand on Your promises, knowing that in Christ, all Your promises are "Yes" and "Amen" (2 Corinthians 1:20). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Without Jesus, we have no access to You, Father, for He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

We rebuke any spirit of confusion, fear, or doubt that would seek to hinder our walk with You. We declare that we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37), and that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We put on the full armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).

Father, we ask that You continue to transform us by the renewing of our minds, that we may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). Let us be blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom we shine as lights in the world (Philippians 2:15). May our lives reflect the image of Your Son, Jesus Christ, as we are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18).

We commit ourselves to pursue love, to walk in wisdom, and to live lives that are pleasing to You. May our love abound more and more in knowledge and discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent and be sincere and without offense until the day of Christ. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this prayer with us. It’s clear your heart is set on loving God well and walking in the wisdom He gives, and we’re grateful to stand with you in that. When we pray passages like Philippians 1 and Colossians 1, we’re not just reciting beautiful words; we’re inviting the Holy Spirit to reshape us from the inside out over a lifetime.

One thing we’ve seen that helps ground such prayers in daily life is to treat spiritual growth like training for a long race, not a sprint. Each time you pause to choose love over hurry, or whisper a request for wisdom before a hard conversation, you’re already putting feet on what you’ve prayed. That kind of steady, almost hidden practice is how real discernment and joy take root.

Here’s a simple step you might find life-giving: take one of the passages you prayed, Colossians 1:9, 12, for example, and carry it with you this week. Read it slowly each morning, and ask the Spirit to impress just one phrase on your mind for the day. Then watch for ordinary moments where that phrase can become your living prayer. It’s amazing how God meets us in the small stuff.

We’re confident He who qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints will keep you steady and joyful.

Lord Jesus, thank You for this desire to abound in love and sharp discernment. Fill them with the knowledge of Your will, strengthen them with power and patience, and keep their steps far from evil. Let them serve You with gladness and see Your goodness in the land of the living. Amen.

You have been praying much for wisdom, for a clear path, for a heart that chooses the highest, and that is well, for such a prayer is itself the breathing of the Spirit within you. But I want you to sit quiet for a moment and know that the One who began this good work in you will not leave you to stumble in the dark as though you were an orphan. He who bids you pursue love has already loved you with an everlasting love, and that love is not a cold abstraction; it is a strong hand enclosing yours when the way grows dim.

Think of it this way. When a child is taken out at night along an unfamiliar lane, every shadow threatens to swallow him. The hedgerows seem full of muffled noises, and the wind itself feels like a warning. Yet if his father holds his hand and says, “I know the way home,” the child’s fears begin to shrink. The darkness is still there, but it has lost its power to terrify, because someone greater than the darkness is walking close. So it is with you. You have been asking to be filled with the knowledge of His will, and I tell you He delights to give it, not as a riddle to be solved late at night, but as a steady light growing brighter with every step of trust. The same Lord who delivered you from the tyranny of thick darkness will not now abandon you to confusion. He is not a hard master who demands that you guess His purposes; He is Ishi, your Husband, who speaks tenderly and leads you with cords of kindness.

Some of the darkness you dread is homegrown, spun out of an anxious mind that lies awake rehearsing sorrows that may never come. How many of our griefs are like that! We paint a thick wall of horror upon nothing more than mist, and then we tremble before our own handiwork. But the Lord’s promise stands: “I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight.” Not all at once, perhaps, but certainly. As you go forward, He will either disperse the gloom or give you night-vision to walk through it, and you will discover that what seemed an impassable barrier was only a shadow cast by a passing cloud.

And do you not see how tenderly He has dealt with you already? You are still breathing, still praying, still longing after holiness, while so many have fallen away or been swept aside. The mere fact that you hunger for discernment and protection is proof that His hand is upon you. He who rescued you from the pit will not let you slide back into it while you are clinging to Him. When the enemy whispers that you are bound to fail, or that the deceivers are too subtle, remember that you have been translated out of the kingdom of darkness altogether. You are not fighting for victory as one who is still in chains; you are fighting from victory, because Christ has already broken the iron gate and brought you out. The old giant Despair may roar, but he cannot keep you, the key turned in that lock once, and it will never be fastened upon you again.

So rest in this: the Lord who gave His Son for you will not starve you of the wisdom you need to walk worthy of Him. He will not leave you to be outwitted by evil people or entangled in deception. His Spirit will lead you, not with loud alarms but with that quiet inward witness that makes you hesitate before a wrong step and gives you a settled peace when you are in the right way. And when you do not know what to choose, it is no sin to wait, praying, “Lord, You see the whole road; I see only the next few feet. Keep me from what would harm my soul, and lead me in the path of uprightness, for I am Yours.”

Let us pray together now, not striving, but trusting:

Father, You have qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. We thank You that the darkness is not dark to You, and that You hold our hand even when we feel nothing but the grip. Keep Your child from the evil one, and from all who would deceive. Grant that tender discernment that is born of love, so that in every choice, the heart may reach for what is highest, not from fear of failing, but from a deep delight in pleasing You. Strengthen with all might, that there may be steadfastness without grimness, and patience without despair, and a joy that gives thanks even before the answer is plain. Let the peace of Christ umpire every decision, and may Your love be the home in which this soul dwells, now and always. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
