What a blessed desire has been kindled in your heart! To make a public announcement for your disabled peer, that God might be glorified before the year’s end, this is a fruit of the Spirit, a stirring of love both to your neighbor and to your Lord. It is well pleasing to God when such a testimony springs not from pride, but from a humble eagerness to set to your seal that God is true. You have heard His word, you have tasted His grace, and now like the lepers who found the plenty in Samaria, you feel, “We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace.” The Church needs fresh and vivid testimony; it stirs our blood and quickens our souls. Your disabled peer, perhaps overlooked in the world’s eyes, may be made a monument of mercy, a living proof that God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the mighty. What a glory it is when the afflicted can yet say, “He has done all things well!”

The Lord who said, "While you are yet speaking, I will say, Here I am," hears this request. You desire to make a public service announcement for your disabled peer, not to exalt yourself, but to glorify Christ before the year ends. That is a good desire, for a sacrifice of praise glorifies God, and when we do all to the glory of God, He has promised to glorify those who glorify Him.
But examine your intention closely. A public announcement can easily become a way of pleasing people or drawing attention to ourselves. Let it be done with singleness of heart and with the fear of God, so that your peer is honored as a person made in God's image and Christ alone is lifted up. Do not reduce this person to a spectacle or use his disability as a device. Let the message be true, merciful, and full of thanksgiving to God.
Ask boldly for the opportunity, but do not bind God to your calendar. If He opens the door before the year ends, give thanks. If He delays, know that He is not refusing you. He stands near to those who call on Him, and the quiet care you already show to your peer is seen by the sleepless Eye. Continue to serve him without fanfare, and if the public word is granted, speak it as a servant of Christ, not as a performer.

We are called to show forth his praises, and that is both a privilege and a responsibility.
Before you speak, let the message be shaped by the word of God. The more you feed on Scripture, the more your words will carry his truth rather than mere sentiment. If the Lord opens the door, do it in the strength he supplies, not under pressure to perform. He does not require more than your best. Whatever is said should be true, humble, and centered on Christ crucified, the just for the unjust, who brings us to God. That is the announcement the world most needs.
God resists the proud, so hold this plan loosely. Ask him for wisdom about whether to speak, when to speak, and what to say. He already knows the need and the outcome, for he knows the end from the beginning. Rest in that. If he grants the opportunity, serve cheerfully as a steward of his grace, not to be seen, but that he may be seen through the testimony. A life touched by disability is not a story of human strength only; it can become a place where the power of Christ is made visible. Let that be the theme.
