Prayer
Thank you Heavenly Father for this beautiful day.

I pray again for deliverance, peace, rest, forgiveness, and that you would rebuke this evil and remove it, and a successful fast. Please please please Heavenly Father remove it.

The terrible thing now is this evil doesn’t seem to be afraid of hearing the name of Jesus. The attacks only get worse. I would just love to be able to sit in peace again Jesus. I see pictures of people just sitting and reading a book, writing or doing something simple. With these evil attacks I don’t have that right because it’s hard to stay still with the way it attacks. Please also forgive me for my sins. Please stop the attacks that are currently happening my Lord and never seem to end. Please Father grant me the ability to just sit in peace. I would be so grateful my Lord Jesus. In Jesus Christ precious name. A

We hear your cry for deliverance, peace, and rest, and we stand with you in agreement, lifting your burdens before the throne of grace. The Word of God assures us that He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Though the attacks you describe seem relentless and even defiant, we declare that no evil can withstand the power of the name of Jesus Christ. The demons tremble at His name (James 2:19), and we rebuke every spirit of torment, fear, and oppression in the mighty name of Jesus. Let the authority of Christ, who disarmed principalities and powers (Colossians 2:15), break every chain and silence every lying voice that seeks to steal your peace.

We also take a moment to address the concern that this evil does not seem afraid of the name of Jesus. Beloved, the enemy may mock or resist for a season, but the name of Jesus is not a magic incantation, it is the name above every name, the name by which every knee will bow (Philippians 2:9-11). The issue is not the power of the name, but the authority with which it is spoken. Are you standing firm in your identity as a child of God, clothed in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18)? Are you resisting the devil with unwavering faith, knowing that he must flee (James 4:7)? We encourage you to examine your heart, have you fully surrendered every area of your life to Christ? Are there any unconfessed sins, unforgiveness, or areas where you have not fully submitted to His lordship? The enemy gains footholds where we leave doors open (Ephesians 4:27). We pray that the Holy Spirit would reveal anything in your life that needs to be brought into the light.

We also lift up your fast before the Lord. Fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline that humbles us before God and sharpens our sensitivity to His voice (Isaiah 58:6-9). But fasting alone is not a formula for deliverance, it must be accompanied by repentance, faith, and obedience. We pray that your fast would be pleasing to the Lord and that He would draw near to you as you draw near to Him (James 4:8).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name that is above every name. We lift up our dear brother/sister who is under relentless attack from the enemy. Lord, You are the Good Shepherd who leads us beside still waters and restores our souls (Psalm 23:2-3). We ask that You would silence the voice of the enemy and break every chain of oppression. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and unrest in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that every tongue that rises against them in judgment will be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). We plead the blood of Jesus over their life, their mind, their home, and every area where the enemy has sought to gain access. Let the light of Your presence expose and drive out every darkness.

Lord, we ask for forgiveness for any sins that may have given the enemy a foothold. Search their heart, O God, and know their thoughts; try them and lead them in the everlasting way (Psalm 139:23-24). If there is any unforgiveness, bitterness, or unrepentant sin, reveal it to them so that they may confess it and receive Your cleansing (1 John 1:9). Grant them the grace to forgive others as You have forgiven them (Colossians 3:13).

We pray for their fast, Lord. Let it be a time of drawing closer to You, of seeking Your face, and of aligning their heart with Yours. Strengthen them physically, emotionally, and spiritually as they deny themselves for Your sake. May they experience the joy of Your presence and the power of Your deliverance.

Father, we ask that You would grant them the peace they long for, the peace that comes from knowing You are in control. Let them sit in stillness, undisturbed by the enemy’s schemes, and let them find rest in Your arms. May they experience the reality of Your promise in Psalm 91: “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). Let them know that You are their refuge and fortress, their God in whom they trust (Psalm 91:2).

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. We thank You that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28) and that Your plans for them are plans for peace and not for evil (Jeremiah 29:11). We declare that the enemy’s attacks will not prevail, but that they will see Your deliverance and give You all the glory.

Beloved, do not lose heart. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He has already secured the victory through the cross. Stand firm in your faith, put on the full armor of God, and resist the devil with the authority you have in Christ. You are not fighting for victory, you are fighting from victory. The peace you long for is not far off; it is found in the presence of Jesus. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you. Keep pressing in, keep praying, and keep trusting. The Lord is your light and your salvation, whom shall you fear (Psalm 27:1)?

We hear the exhaustion in your words, the ache for something as simple as sitting quietly with a book, the bewilderment that attacks intensify even when you call on Jesus' name. That is a deeply disorienting place to be, and we're sorry you're walking through it.

When relief doesn't come the way we expect, it's easy to feel we're doing something wrong or that God isn't listening. But your reaching out itself is an act of faith. You keep turning toward Him, and that matters.

One thing we've seen help some in similar struggles is gently shifting focus away from the attack itself, not ignoring it, but refusing to study it or dialogue with it internally. Sometimes the more attention we give to what evil is doing, the larger it looms. Instead, anchoring yourself in small, concrete moments of God's goodness can begin to quiet the inner noise. This isn't about pretending the battle isn't real, but about choosing where you let your mind dwell.

You mentioned a fast, perhaps consider whether any part of that fast could include a break from analyzing the attacks or measuring whether they're responding to prayer. Just for a set time, give yourself permission to stop tracking the intensity and simply rest in the truth that you belong to Jesus, regardless of what you feel. He is not threatened by what you're facing, and His grip on you hasn't loosened.

Father, we lift up our friend who just wants to sit in peace. You know the turmoil, the relentless nature of what they're enduring. We ask You to quiet the storm they cannot quiet themselves. Protect their mind and body. Let them feel Your nearness in a tangible way tonight, maybe through a moment of genuine stillness, no matter how brief. Grant them rest, and renew their hope. In Jesus' name.

The terrors you describe, that the evil grows fiercer at the name of Jesus, must not cause you to doubt, but to understand. When the strong man armed kept his palace, his goods were in peace; but a stronger than he has come upon him. The devil’s rage is the proof of his defeat. Christ has already bruised the serpent’s head; the writhing you feel is the death-throes of a conquered foe. Do not mistake the noise of the battle for the uncertainty of its outcome. The name of Jesus is not a charm that makes the adversary flee in silence; often it is the war-cry that drives him to desperate resistance, even as he knows his time is short. Stand still, and see the salvation of God.

You cry for rest, and rightly so. But mark this: the rest Christ gives is not the mere cessation of outward assault. It is a rest that can coexist with the tumult. For we who have believed do enter into rest, present tense, even now. It is not rest after the evil departs, but rest in the presence of the evil, because the peace is in the blood and righteousness of Jesus. Our hearts are sprinkled from an evil conscience. The evil one may roar, but if your heart is anchored on the finished work of Christ, the deep waters are calm beneath the storm. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest. If you are clinging to Him in this fiery trial, you are, even now, in the place of rest, though your feelings tell you otherwise.

As for forgiveness, which you plead, hear this and be at peace: I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. The pardon is not given by degrees; it is full, free, and present. He does not treat you as a half-forgiven criminal, paroled but still watched with suspicion. He casts your sin behind His back into the depths of the sea. If He has forgiven, the accuser’s charges are mere noise with no legal weight in the court of heaven. Let this absolution be the quietus to your fears: your sin is forgiven. That fact is the death-knell to the enemy’s sharpest sting.

You must now perform an act of instantaneous faith. Come now to Jesus, not with a plea for a future truce, but for the present rest He gives. Rely upon Him now. The promise is, “I will give you rest,” given at the moment of coming. It is perfect rest, too, not partial. Do not wait for a feeling; take the rest by faith. Lay your weary head on the bosom of God’s sure Word. Return unto your rest, O my soul, for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. The Lord will bless His people with peace. Are you one of His people? Then the peace is your covenant portion, to be received, not wrung from an unwilling hand by the long struggle of prayer, but taken as a purchased gift. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. Whisper back, “Amen, Lord, I receive it.” Trust, and you shall rest.

The longing you feel to simply sit in quietness with a book, to write without assault, that very desire is a mark of the rest prepared for God’s people. The enemy sees that seed of peace in you and sets all his force to choke it. But do not mistake his fury for a sign that the name of Jesus has lost power. That name, which is the terror of demons, sometimes enrages them precisely because it is your only weapon. He is like a beast that, struck with a mortal dart, gnashes and lunges with its last strength. Continue, then, to wield the sword of the Spirit. When the attacks swell, do not interpret the noise as defeat. The calm is coming, but first the storm must be endured.

Yet I must ask you plainly: are you fighting this battle in solitude? The devil is boldest when he finds a soul alone. In the garden, he came to the woman apart from the man. In the wilderness, he fell upon our Lord when He was withdrawn from the company of men. He knows that two are better than one, that a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Do not, then, suffer by yourself. Seek the prayers and the presence of faithful brethren. Bring this warfare into the light before the Church. Often, the very act of speaking it to another breaks a great portion of the enemy’s power, for he thrives in hidden affliction. If you have been keeping this trial to yourself out of shame or weariness, I urge you, seek the fellowship of the saints, and let them bear your burden.

And while you cry for forgiveness, look also within. Is there anyone against whom you hold a grudge, any root of bitterness lingering? For we dare not ask the Master to release our debts while we clutch the collar of our fellow servant. The peace that surpasses understanding grows only in a heart that has made peace with all, so far as it is possible. And this peace is not the fragile stillness that the world covets, a mere absence of noise. No, it is the deep and abiding peace of Christ, which reigned in the hearts of the apostles even while they were beaten and chained. It is the peace that comes from righteousness and joy in the Holy Spirit, not from a tidy room. Seek that, and the ability to sit still will follow as a shadow follows the body.

Let your fast be offered not as a transaction, but as a handmaid to humility, a quieting of the flesh that says to God, “I depend utterly on You.” And while you pray those Psalms which arm the soul, do not merely recite them, but eat them. Let the shepherd’s rod and staff comfort you in the dark valley. Let the truth that He will not suffer your foot to be moved become your shield. The God of peace has already won your deliverance on the cross; the remaining skirmishes serve to show forth His strength. Do not let the length of the struggle convince you that He is absent. Often He delays to give relief so that the crown might be more glorious. Stand, then, and having your feet shod with the readiness of the gospel of peace, you shall yet recline at the table He prepares in the presence of your enemies, and your cup will overflow.
