Cast your cares on the lord, and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.

We thank you for sharing Psalm 55:22 and we join with you in holding fast to this precious promise. We love how this verse reminds us that we are not meant to carry our burdens alone. The psalmist says to cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22
We are encouraged because this is not a suggestion to simply try harder but an invitation to transfer the weight of our cares onto the Lord himself. He does not just take the burden, He sustains us while we walk through it. That sustaining power is also spoken of in 1 Peter 5:7 where we are told to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you. And in Philippians 4:6-7 we are reminded that in nothing to be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, to let our requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus.
We also want to gently share something beautiful about the second part of the verse, He will never let the righteous be shaken. On our own we are not righteous, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 Yet through faith in Jesus Christ we are made righteous, not by our own efforts but by His perfect life, death and resurrection. It is only through Jesus that we can cast our cares before the Father with confidence and be counted as righteous and unshaken. Jesus himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you have not yet put your trust in Jesus, we encourage you to believe on Him, confess your need for Him as Savior and Lord, and enter into that sustaining relationship where your burden is carried by Him.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You invite us to cast every burden, every worry, every care upon You. We lift up every heavy heart that is reading this now, including the one who shared this verse. Sustain us by Your mighty hand. Guard our hearts with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Help us to trust You more deeply and to remember that You care for us with an everlasting love. Make us righteous through the blood of Jesus, and keep us from being moved when trials come. Teach us to come to You daily in prayer, to wait on You, and to rest in Your faithfulness. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to keep casting your cares on Him each morning and evening in prayer, to stay in His Word, and to trust that He who has promised to sustain you will never fail you. He who keeps you will not slumber and His steadiness is your security. Isaiah 41:10

How sweet and sustaining is the word which you have set before the Lord, Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you, He will never let the righteous be shaken. This is no light promise, but the faithful word of Him who cannot fail.
You are bidden not to be so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry, fretfulness and distress. Be prudent and do the right thing as before God, and then be no longer anxious about it, but leave the result with Him. Obey that gracious word, Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Do you believe that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. If you do, then prove your faith by casting your burden upon your God.
He is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys. Is He the God only of your higher spiritual interests and not the God of your hourly troubles, your daily bread, your sleepless nights and your heavy thoughts. He who numbers the hairs of your head and paints every flower that blooms has not forgotten you. The whole world is full of God to him who believes in God, and there is no place where you cannot have communion with Him. Like the Psalmist, you may be a man of God alone with God, declaring your ways unto Him and finding that He hears you.
Therefore I would urge you to cry unto God most high, unto God that performs all things for you. Tell Him plainly what your care is. Keep nothing back. He who heard you at the first will hear you still, and will teach you His statutes and sustain you by His grace. The righteous man here promised is not righteous in himself, but righteous through faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Clothed in His righteousness, you shall not be shaken, for your feet stand upon the Rock.
If the burden be heavy, do not give up prayer. Though you feel forsaken, still cry, My God, my God, and be more earnest than ever. He will in due time send forth His mercy and His truth, and you shall yet say, Thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul, Thou hast redeemed my life.
May the Lord Himself lift this care from your heart even now, and give you to rest in His bosom. May He sustain you day by day, keep you from anxious fretting, make you to walk in His way, and prove to you that He will never suffer the righteous to be moved. May you find that to cast your care upon Him is to find peace that passes understanding, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

It is a true and faithful promise you have quoted, and it is good that you have brought it before the Lord. To cast your cares on Him means to place them fully into His hands and to trust that He Himself will carry you. He has promised to sustain the righteous and not to let them be shaken, not because we hold ourselves steady, but because He holds us.
Scripture shows us that the yoke of virtue is sweet and light, while the burdens that come from sin and from anxious striving are heavy. Covetousness, fear about the future, and the desire to control what only God can control all add weight upon weight, like waves that never cease. Christ calls us to lay those down. He taught us not to add tomorrow's trouble to today's, for each day has enough trouble of its own, and He as a tender Father wants to free us from superfluous anxieties. When we try to carry everything ourselves and look in every direction at once, the narrow way that leads to life feels impossible. But when we practice laying our cares before Him and walking in obedience, that way becomes passable because He carries the burden with us.
To be called righteous in this psalm is not to claim we are without sin on our own, but to be found in Christ, who alone is our salvation. It is through faith in Him that we are made righteous and are able to stand. So continue to bring every care to Him in prayer, confessing sin where needed, asking for His help to walk in His ways, and trusting His sustaining grace day by day.
I pray for you now that the Lord will lift the weight you feel, that He will teach you to leave each care in His hands, that He will sustain you by His strength and keep your feet from slipping, and that He will give you peace as you trust in Jesus Christ alone for mercy and life.
