Psalm 55:22

We hear your heart in sharing this verse, and we stand with you in lifting up the truth that our Heavenly Father is faithful to sustain those who trust in Him. Psalm 55:22 is a powerful reminder that we are not meant to carry our burdens alone, God invites us to cast every care upon Him, for He cares deeply for us (1 Peter 5:7). When life feels overwhelming, when fears or uncertainties press in, we can rest in the promise that the Lord will never abandon the righteous. His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), and His peace guards our hearts when we bring our requests to Him in prayer (Philippians 4:6-7).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with gratitude for Your unfailing love and steadfast faithfulness. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). We lift up to You those who are carrying heavy burdens today, those weighed down by anxiety, grief, loneliness, or despair. Lord, we ask that You would remind them of Your nearness and Your promise to sustain them. Help them to release their cares into Your hands, trusting that You will never let them be shaken. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. May they walk in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even when the path ahead seems unclear. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

If you or someone you know is struggling under the weight of life’s challenges, we encourage you to take this verse to heart and bring those burdens to the Lord in prayer. He is listening, and He is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with you and remind you of God’s promises. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider the gift of salvation He offers. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). It is only through Him that we have access to God’s grace, forgiveness, and eternal life. If you would like to know more about what it means to follow Christ, we would be honored to walk with you in that journey.

Thank you for putting that promise before us. It is a steady word to hold onto when cares feel heavy.

We hear in that picture an invitation to do something active. Casting is not just thinking about our worries or carrying them more carefully. It is handing them over to Someone who is both near enough to care and strong enough to sustain. We do not have to sort everything out first or make ourselves worthy to be heard.

If it would help, we have found it meaningful to be specific with the Lord. When a worry rises today, maybe pause and name it plainly before Him in your own words, one burden at a time, and tell Him you are leaving it in His hands for this day. Then rest in whatever next faithful step is yours to take, trusting Him with what you cannot control.

We are praying for you and are glad to stand with you as you keep bringing your cares to Him.

Father, thank You that You see each burden this friend is carrying. We ask that You give a sense of Your nearness and sustaining strength today, and wisdom for each decision. Keep them steady in Your care as they trust You. In Jesus' name, amen.

This precious word from Psalm 55 is a very gracious promise and it meets the present need of many a tried heart. Cast your cares on the Lord, and He will sustain you. He will never let the righteous be shaken.

You do well to lay hold upon it, for the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. When the heart is full of care it has no strength for duty and no rest in God. The Lord therefore gives you a better way, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. You are not to carry what He is willing to carry for you.

Remember that to be sustained is more than to be merely delivered for a moment. He who bids you cast your burden upon Him also promises to bear it and to bear you at the same time. If you come unto Him as He invites weary and heavy laden souls to come, He will lift the load from your galled shoulders and bear it all Himself. His yoke is easy and His burden is light, and when the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit come to your help, all thought of difficulty vanishes. He points you to the ravens and to the lilies to teach you to live without carking care, trusting the hand that feeds and clothes.

Do you believe that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. If you do, then leave the ordering of those all things with Him who orders them in wisdom and sovereignty. There is no attribute more comforting than His divine sovereignty, for His hand is in everything and His love never fails His own.

If you are in Christ you are counted righteous in Him, not in yourself, and it is the righteous whom He will not suffer to be moved. Out of Christ we are debtors to divine justice and hopelessly bankrupt, but in Christ we are brought into the dominions of divine grace, quickened by His life and kept by His power. Cast yourself and your care together upon Him. Tell Him about it in prayer, for telling yourself about it and letting anxiety be confined within your own bosom brings no good.

May the Lord give you grace to obey this word at once, to leave your burden where you have cast it, and to prove how faithfully He sustains those who trust Him. He has delivered your soul from death and your feet from falling, and He will keep you to the end, that you may say with thankfulness, He hath sustained me and I have not been moved.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Psalm 55:22 is a precious promise and it is good that you have brought it forward. To cast your cares on the Lord is not a small thing, for He alone can sustain you when your own strength fails.

The cares of this life can become a heavy burden. When we chain ourselves to many anxieties and carry the burdens of this world with us, the way feels even more narrow and difficult. Many of those burdens come from sin and from trusting in our own gains and plans, which bring wave after wave of anxiety and fear. But the yoke of virtue, the yoke of Christ, is sweet and light. He commands us to cast our cares on Him precisely so that He may deliver us from needless and superfluous anxieties.

The Lord shows the tender care of a Father. He knows that each day has enough trouble of its own, and He does not want you to be crushed by adding tomorrow's burden to today's. When you cast your cares on Him, you are not ignored. He sustains the righteous and He will not let those who trust in Him be shaken, not because we are strong, but because He is faithful.

So bring every care to Him in prayer, with confession and trust in Jesus Christ alone, through whom we have peace with God and access to His sustaining grace. Ask Him to make you lean and unencumbered for the narrow way, to teach you to walk in His righteousness, and to carry what you cannot carry.

May the Lord hear your prayer, lift your burden, steady your heart, and keep you in His peace as you continue to cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.

That verse you shared is such a faithful promise to hold onto when life feels heavy. To cast your burden on the Lord means to deliberately place what is weighing on you into His hands, and His promise in return is that He will sustain you and keep you from being moved.

Scripture is honest that everyone carries a burden. Jesus Himself spoke to those who labor and are heavy laden and invited them to come to Him for rest. He said His yoke is easy and His burden is light. The contrast is important. The heavy burden that wears us down is so often the burden of trying to please ourselves, or trying to meet demands we or others have placed on us that God never placed on us. Living to please self always leads to unrest and becomes intolerable. Living to please God, to do the will of the Father as Jesus did, is light and brings rest. If what you are carrying feels crushing and pressured, it is not the burden He gives. His way is not to press you down with a weight you cannot bear.

David knew what it was to carry a real burden when he wrote Psalm 55. He was dealing with family trouble, a close friend who had turned against him, and many who had opposed him, even threats to his life. Out of that experience he learned to say, cast your burden on the Lord and He will sustain you. Peter echoes the same truth when he tells us to cast all our cares upon Him because He cares for you. That is one of the greatest truths in the Bible. God cares for you personally. Jesus said He knows even the number of hairs on your head. The normal cares of life, the worries about family, work, bills, relationships, and the future, those pressures that can so absorb us, He invites you to turn into prayer.

So bring what is on your heart to Him directly in prayer. Lay it down at His feet rather than carrying it yourself. He does not ask you to pretend the cares are not there, but to hand them over to the One who is able to carry you. He will sustain you day by day, and He has promised He will never let the righteous be shaken, but will establish you as you trust Him.

May the Lord lift that weight from you as you entrust it to Him, and may you know His sustaining grace and peace as you rest in His care.
