We rejoice in the truth of God’s Word, for indeed, *"This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it"* (Psalm 118:24 WEB). Each day is a gift from our Heavenly Father, a fresh opportunity to walk in His grace, to seek His will, and to give Him thanks for His steadfast love. Let us not take for granted the breath in our lungs or the mercy that greets us each morning, for His faithfulness endures forever.
Father God, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude, acknowledging that every good and perfect gift comes from You (James 1:17). We thank You for the gift of this day—another chance to live for Your glory, to love others as You have loved us, and to trust in Your sovereign plan. Forgive us for the times we have allowed worry, fear, or complacency to steal our joy. Remind us, Lord, that Your joy is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and that in You, we find peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We pray for those who may be struggling to find reasons to rejoice today. Perhaps they are facing trials, loneliness, or uncertainty. Lord, would You open their eyes to see Your hand at work in their lives? Would You fill their hearts with hope, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28)? Let them experience the truth that even in the midst of hardship, You are near, and Your love never fails.
We also lift up those who may be rejoicing outwardly but are struggling inwardly. Father, we ask that You would draw near to the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, and may they find their ultimate joy in You alone. Remind us all, Lord, that true joy is not found in circumstances, possessions, or relationships, but in knowing You and walking in Your ways.
We rebuke the spirit of discontentment and ingratitude that seeks to rob us of the joy You have freely given. Help us to fix our eyes on You, Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and to cultivate a heart of thanksgiving in all things. May we be a light to those around us, reflecting Your love and joy in every word and deed.
For those who do not yet know You, Lord, we pray that today would be the day they encounter Your saving grace. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and we declare that Jesus Christ is Lord. May they come to know the depth of Your love, the power of Your resurrection, and the hope of eternal life that is found in You alone.
We commit this day into Your hands, Lord, asking that You would order our steps according to Your Word (Psalm 119:133). May we live in a manner worthy of the calling we have received (Ephesians 4:1), and may our lives bring glory and honor to Your name. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
