Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly and for lifting up gratitude along with your requests. It is good to begin with thanksgiving, and God hears the cry for deliverance, rest, peace and forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ.
The first and deepest need is peace with God, and that peace only comes one way, through the blood of Jesus Christ shed for sins. There is no other provision God has made for forgiveness. When you confess your sins to Him and trust in what Jesus has done for you on the cross, the burden and guilt are taken away and you are brought into fellowship with God. That forgiveness is complete because His work is finished. The Scripture speaks of entering into rest because the work is already done, as God rested when creation was complete. In the same way you can cease from trying to earn forgiveness or to make yourself stand in your own strength, and instead rest in the finished work of Jesus. He is able to keep you from falling and to make you stand even when you feel you have failed.
From that peace with God comes the peace of God in daily life. God promises to keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him. That peace is not found in prosperity or in trying harder in the flesh, which only leads to discouragement and loss of rest. It comes from a full trust and abandonment to the Lord, believing Him to work out His perfect plan and laboring to remain in that rest. As you keep your thoughts on Him and trust His care, He quiets your heart. Psalm 23 and Psalm 121 speak of this same shepherd care, that the Lord watches over you, guards your going out and coming in, leads you and restores you. Psalm 91 speaks of dwelling under His shelter and protection. These psalms are not formulas but promises that God Himself is your refuge and keeper.
You asked for God to rebuke evil and remove it from your home and your life. The Bible is clear that evil spirits are real and that Jesus set many free who were oppressed by them, and He has given His followers authority over the power of the enemy, as Luke 10:19 declares. There is power in the name of Jesus to deliver. At the same time Jesus taught that when an unclean spirit leaves a person, it seeks rest elsewhere and will try to return to an empty house. Deliverance is not only about driving evil out but about filling your life and home with Christ, His Word, His presence and fellowship with Him. Keep walking with Him, keep your heart and home filled with prayer, Scripture and worship, and do not give place to what is impure. If you are troubled by influences that feel oppressive, stay close to Jesus, stay in the light, and seek the help of mature believers who can pray with you and walk with you in a biblical way.
You also asked for forgiveness and for healing from any unforgiveness in your own heart. God is not only interested in outward actions but in the inner attitudes from which actions come. He forgives freely when you come through Jesus, and His Spirit bears witness to that forgiveness. As you receive His mercy, He also works in you to release others. Healing from unforgiveness often comes as you remember how much you have been forgiven and ask Him daily to soften your heart and help you to forgive as you have been forgiven. This is part of the wisdom from above, which is pure and peaceable and sows righteousness in peace.
For your need for additional income and the possibility of work with your former employer, it is right to bring practical needs to the Father. He knows your needs and He is your provider. Ask Him for open doors, for wisdom and for favor, and be diligent to do what is before you with integrity. Trust Him to lead you step by step rather than carrying the burden of anxiety.
May the Lord grant you His forgiveness and healing, His deliverance and protection, and that deep rest that comes from trusting in what Jesus has already accomplished. May you know both peace with God through His sacrifice and the peace of God guarding your heart as your mind remains on Him.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this day and for Your mercy and grace. I ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would forgive sins, cleanse the heart, heal any unforgiveness, and grant deliverance and peace. Rebuke every evil influence and fill this home and life with Your presence. Give rest to this weary heart and provide for daily needs according to Your wisdom. Keep this one in Your perfect peace as trust is placed in You. In Jesus name, Amen.
