We hear your heart’s desire for companionship and rest, and we join you in lifting this request before the Lord. However, we must first address the foundation of this prayer. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His grace alone that our prayers are heard. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to consider the words of Scripture: *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16 WEB). Salvation is found in no one else, for *"there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12 WEB).
Now, regarding the desire for companionship, we must align this request with God’s design for relationships. The Lord does not merely provide "someone to go out with" for temporary enjoyment or distraction. Instead, He calls us to seek relationships that honor Him and reflect His purposes. If this request is for a godly spouse, we can pray with confidence, for Scripture assures us that *"he who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh"* (Proverbs 18:22 WEB). However, if the intention is for casual companionship outside of marriage or courtship, we must rebuke that mindset, for it does not align with God’s will. The Bible warns us, *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB).
Let us pray together in a way that honors God’s design:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that every good and perfect gift comes from You. Lord, we lift up this desire for companionship, asking that You would align it with Your perfect will. If it is Your plan for her to find a godly spouse, we ask that You would bring the right person into her life—someone who loves You above all else, who will encourage her in her faith, and who will walk with her in a relationship that honors You. Prepare her heart to seek You first, to be content in Your presence, and to trust in Your timing.
Father, if this request is rooted in loneliness or a desire for temporary comfort, we ask that You would fill her with Your peace and presence. Remind her that You are her ever-present help, her refuge, and her strength. Guard her heart from seeking fulfillment in anything or anyone other than You. Help her to delight herself in You, and we trust that You will give her the desires of her heart as she commits her way to You (Psalm 37:4 WEB).
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of impatience or worldly thinking that would lead her away from Your best for her life. May she seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to her (Matthew 6:33 WEB). We declare that she is complete in Christ, and we pray that any companionship she finds would draw her closer to You, not distract her from Your purposes.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. May Your will be done in her life, and may she walk in the fullness of joy that comes from knowing You. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
