Lord provide her with friends

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus, I pray that you provide my daughter with friends so that she will go out on Saturday. You know her desire to go out to a particular place and party on Saturday. I pray that she will have the opportunity to go with some friends and be able to enjoy herself. In Jesus name, I pray.

We hear your heartfelt plea for your daughter, and we join you in lifting this matter before our Heavenly Father. It is natural for parents to desire good things for their children, friendship, joy, and opportunities to socialize. However, we must also seek God’s wisdom and discernment in every situation, especially when it comes to the environments our loved ones enter.

First, we want to affirm your reliance on the name of Jesus in your prayer. There is power in His name, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). We pray that your daughter would come to know Jesus personally if she does not already, for He is the source of true joy, peace, and fulfillment. If she has not yet surrendered her life to Christ, we encourage you to share the Gospel with her, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).

Now, regarding her desire to go out to a particular place and party, we must pause and seek God’s will in this. The Bible warns us to be cautious about the company we keep and the environments we enter. "Do not be deceived: 'Evil company corrupts good habits'" (1 Corinthians 15:33). Parties, especially those not centered on godly fellowship, can often lead to temptation, peer pressure, and situations that do not honor the Lord. We are called to be in the world but not of it (John 17:14-16), and this requires discernment.

We encourage you to pray specifically for godly friendships for your daughter, friends who will encourage her in her faith, hold her accountable, and walk with her in a way that honors Christ. "Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17). If she is a believer, she should seek friendships with other believers who will build her up in the Lord. If she is not yet a believer, we pray that God would surround her with people who will point her to Jesus.

We also want to gently rebuke the idea that going out to a party is the only way for her to enjoy herself or find fulfillment. True joy comes from the Lord, and He desires for her to experience His peace and contentment in all circumstances. "You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore" (Psalm 16:11). Let us pray that she would find her satisfaction in Christ and that He would lead her to environments where she can grow in her faith and glorify Him.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this mother and her daughter. Lord, we ask that You would draw this young woman to Yourself. If she does not know You, reveal Your love and salvation to her. If she does know You, deepen her relationship with You and help her to seek Your will in all things.

Father, we pray for godly friendships for her. Surround her with believers who will encourage her in her faith, challenge her to grow, and walk with her in a way that honors You. Protect her from friendships that would lead her astray or into temptation. Give her discernment to recognize the company that will build her up rather than tear her down.

Lord, we ask that You would redirect her desires. If the places she wants to go are not honoring to You, soften her heart and help her to see the joy and fulfillment that come from walking in Your ways. Show her the path of life, and fill her with Your presence so that she may experience true joy.

Father, we also pray for this mother. Give her wisdom as she guides her daughter. Help her to speak truth in love and to model a life that honors You. Strengthen her faith and give her peace as she trusts You with her daughter’s future.

We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

We encourage you to continue praying for your daughter and to seek opportunities to disciple her in the faith. Share with her the hope and joy that come from a relationship with Jesus, and trust that God will work in her heart. If she is already a believer, encourage her to seek out Christian fellowship, youth groups, Bible studies, or service opportunities, where she can build godly friendships. May the Lord bless you and your family as you seek Him together.

We're so glad you brought this to prayer. Your love for your daughter shines through, you want her to enjoy life and not feel left out, and that's a deeply caring heart. Watching our kids long for connection can ache in us too, and we're lifting this right along with you.

We've seen God provide friends in surprising ways, and we trust He sees your daughter's loneliness and cares about the company she keeps. While we can't control who will be available this Saturday, we can plant seeds. Perhaps there's a simple, low-pressure way you could help open a door, maybe an invitation to a friend from church or school to do something together beforehand, or a gentle check-in with another parent who might be planning a similar outing. Sometimes the smallest nudge helps a friendship take root.

Even as you pray for companions for this weekend, we join you in asking God to shape her desires. We pray He will surround her with friends who encourage her in what is good and that He will give her wisdom in the places she chooses to go and the people she trusts. You are not alone in this, we're asking with you that she finds genuine, life-giving friendships that go far beyond a single Saturday.

Let's pray together just briefly:

Father, thank you for this daughter you have made. You know her longing for friendship and the ache of isolation. We ask you to bring people into her life who will truly care for her and be a steady, joyful presence. Guide her steps this weekend; protect her and give her peace. Give her mom or dad wisdom and peace too, and open doors for connection that no one can shut. In Jesus' name, amen.

How easily we fret over the passing pleasures of a Saturday evening, when the soul’s eternal concerns hang in the balance! You pray for companions to lead your daughter to some place of merriment and gaiety, but have you considered what sort of friends these might be? True friendship is not a hasty alliance for an evening’s revelry; it is a bond sealed in righteousness. I would to God that you would pray even more earnestly that she might find her chief friendship in Jesus Christ, who alone satisfies the heart’s deepest longings. He is the Friend that sticketh closer than a brother, whose love was proven not in carnal merriment but in the agony of Gethsemane and the blood of Calvary.

If your daughter knows not Christ as her Friend, then even the brightest party is but a hollow shell, a fleeting shadow that cannot comfort her in sorrow or plead for her at the judgment seat. What will it profit if she gains a score of worldly companions and yet loses her own soul? Our Lord Himself was left alone, deserted by those He loved, that He might bear our sin and bring us into true fellowship with God. Shall we then chase after the world’s fading laughter while His wounds still proclaim the cost of our redemption?

Pray rather that the Holy Spirit would draw her to the feet of the lowly King, that she might rejoice greatly in His salvation. If He grants her friends, let them be those who love His name, and let their gatherings be seasoned with grace. But if He withholds the Saturday outing, trust it is the hand of a wise Father who sees what she in her youth cannot. The Lord Jesus claims the first place in the hearts of His people; not an idol of pleasure, not the approval of the crowd. Commend your daughter to His keeping, and teach her to seek first the kingdom of God. Then, whether she goes out in company or tarries in solitude, she shall have a peace which the world cannot give, and a companion in Christ that failure cannot shake.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

I hear your prayer for your daughter, but I must urge you to examine the nature of this desire. You ask for friends so she may attend a party and enjoy herself. Yet consider what true friendship is. There are many causes of friendship, some natural, some social, but the spiritual love is far higher, descending from heaven. Would you have her form bonds that draw her toward a place of revelry, or bonds that bind her closer to Christ? For friends according to Christ surpass even fathers and sons, and such friends do not lead us into worldly mirth but into the one heart and soul of the faithful.

I do not speak of the friends of the present day, whose laughter is short and whose company often scatters the soul. Consider the time of the Apostles: all who believed were together and had all things in common. There was no “mine” or “thine,” no seeking of separate pleasure. That is friendship, when a man cares for his friend’s soul as for his own. If your daughter longs for companions, pray rather that she find those who will guard her purity and spur her on to good works, for an excellent course of life is more pleasing to God than any earthly delight. He did not say, “find enjoyment in parties,” but “keep my commandments,” and then He calls us friends.

Do not think me harsh. A genuine friend is more to be longed for than the light, better than the sun. But a friend who would lead her to a place of temptation is no friend at all. Perhaps you trust that this gathering is innocent, but I say: be careful. Even the barbarians judged a man by what they saw, and God’s providence is everywhere. If she is kept from this party, it may be mercy, not denial. For Christ Himself came to set variance, daughter against mother, and sometimes the dearest of our desires must be parted from us for our salvation. Pray instead that her faith make her a true daughter of God, as the woman with the issue of blood was called “daughter” because of her faith. Let her seek the fellowship of the saints, the joy of the assembly, and the feast that never ends. Then she will find friends who are friends of God, and no darkness can overcome that light.

How often a parent’s heart echoes this very plea watching a son or daughter long for companionship and wanting nothing more than to see them enjoy the gift of good friends. Thank you for entrusting this to the Lord. You did the most important thing first: you brought it to the throne of grace. So many wait until anxiety has worn them thin before they pray, but you are already on your knees, and that sincere, heartfelt cry of a parent is powerful. Scripture assures us that the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much.

Yet even as you ask, remember that prayer is never simply a tool to get our own wishes done. Jesus taught us to pray, “Thy will be done,” and that pattern reshapes every request we make. Your daughter’s desire to be with people who welcome her is natural, and God knows that ache. But perhaps the deeper work this Saturday is to ask the Lord to do what is best for her soul and her safety, not only what will fill an evening. Pray earnestly, and then leave room for God to answer in ways you might not expect. He may provide a friend who invites her to something far better than the party she has in view, or He may guard her by closing a door that seems full of promise but holds hidden trouble.

At the same time, prayer does not call us to throw wisdom aside. A watchman in Scripture prayed and then set a watch on the wall. So while you plead for God to surround her with true friends, also have the courage to talk with her about where she is going and who will be there. The world can be a dangerous place for a young woman on her own one need only recall a daughter who once went out to see the women of the land and found herself in great harm because she acted without discerning the spiritual peril around her. Your love for her must combine intercession with gentle guidance.

Keep asking the Father to weave godly friendships into her life friends who will draw her closer to Christ and not away from Him. And while you pray, ask the Lord to cultivate in her what lasts forever: the inner beauty of a heart that fears Him. The king’s daughter is all glorious within, and that unfading adornment is far more precious than any fleeting social success. Trust that your prayers are not wasted; they rise before God and move His hand. Whether this Saturday turns out as she hopes or takes a different course, commit her into the care of the One who loves her more than you ever could.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for ###. It has been our joy to lift her up before the Lord, asking Him to provide godly friendships that would not only bless her with companionship but also open the door for her to attend the gathering she has been looking forward to this Saturday. We’ve prayed that her heart would be filled with joy and that she would feel the Lord’s presence in every moment.

If God has answered this prayer in a way that brings her happiness and draws her closer to Him, we would love to hear your praise report—let us celebrate His faithfulness together. If it seems the answer hasn’t yet come, we encourage you to post this request again so we can continue interceding on her behalf. The Lord hears our prayers, and His timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with our own.

May He continue to surround ### with His peace and provision as she seeks Him. We remain committed to praying alongside you, trusting that He will work all things for her good. In Jesus’ name.
