Proverbs, Chapter 21

21:1 The king's heart is in the hand of Yahweh as the watercourses: He turns it wherever he will.

21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes; But Yahweh weighs the hearts.

21:3 To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to Yahweh than sacrifice.

21:4 A high look, and a proud heart, [Even] the lamp of the wicked, is sin.

21:6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue Is a vapor driven to and fro by those who seek death.

21:7 The violence of the wicked will sweep them away, Because they refuse to do justice.

21:8 The way of him who is laden with guilt is exceedingly crooked; But as for the pure, his work is right.

21:9 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, Than with a contentious woman in a wide house.

21:10 The soul of the wicked desires evil: His fellow man finds no favor in his eyes.

21:11 When the scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise; And when the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge.

21:12 The righteous man considers the house of the wicked, [How] the wicked are overthrown to [their] ruin.

21:13 Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, He also will cry, but will not be heard.

21:14 A gift in secret pacifies anger; And a present in the bosom, strong wrath.

21:15 It is joy to the righteous to do justice; But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.

21:16 [The] man who wanders out of the way of understanding Will rest in the assembly of the spirits of the dead.

21:17 He who loves pleasure will be a poor man: He who loves wine and oil will not be rich.

21:18 The wicked is a ransom for the righteous; And the betrayer [comes] in the stead of the upright.

21:19 It is better to dwell in a desert land, Than with a contentious and fretful woman.

21:20 There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; But [a] foolish man swallows it up.

21:21 He who follows after righteousness and kindness Finds life, righteousness, and honor.

21:22 A wise man scales the city of the mighty, And brings down the strength of its confidence.

21:23 Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue Keeps his soul from troubles.

21:24 The proud and haughty man, scoffer is his name; He works in the arrogance of pride.

21:25 The desire of the sluggard kills him; For his hands refuse to labor.

21:26 There is one who covets greedily all the day long; But the righteous gives and does not withhold.

21:27 The sacrifice of the wicked is disgusting: How much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind!

21:28 A false witness will perish; But the man who hears will speak so as to endure.

21:29 A wicked man hardens his face; But as for the upright, he establishes his ways.

21:30 There is no wisdom nor understanding Nor counsel against Yahweh.

21:31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle; But victory is of Yahweh.

Proverbs 21: 7  "The violence of the wicked will sweep them away, because they refuse to do justice."

All too often we look to the future to see how these insightful proverbs will be fulfilled. Or else we look to our personal lives or those around us. But what about history? Why not apply these proverbs to the well-known past?

The proverb I quote above certainly applied to Hitler and Company. Think about it! How violent and unjust they were. Yet scripture told them in advance that they would be swept away. Swept away!

What is really instructive to consider is that these fascists tried to pass themselves off as good Christians fighting the godless enemy of atheist communism. They even had their own church called the "Reich Church" in which only Nazis were allowed to preach. It replaced the cross with a swastika. The Bible was replaced with "Mein Kampf."

But atheistic communists were the broom that "swept them away." I suspect that God was laughing up his sleeve at that one. Our Lord promised in the Ten Commandments that he would not hold those guiltless who take his name, his authority, his reputation into our vain acts and teachings. God is not to be trifled with or used for sick personal advantage. He is to be used first and foremost for salvation from the greatest evil that has ever afflicted mankind: sin. Hallelujah! Praise His Holy Name!

"Take heed that the light that is in thee be not darkness," our Lord solemnly warned us. "For if it is, how great is that darkness!"

For my book, one's relgious profession means absolutely nothing if one hasn't been very careful to observe the warnings of John the Baptist about eternal hell found in Luke 3. That was John's job--to prepare us for the coming of the Lord. John's job was to save us from a totally worthless, pretentious, Herod-like 'faith' that only nibbles at Truth around the edges while ignoring the Golden Rule at its very heart.

But victory is from Yahweh.  Prov. 21.31b   Glory to God, blessing to His name... He alone can give us victory over the devil and his torments that come at night.  Jesus conquered it all and we must rejoice in our God.  If anyone tells you that you have come from monkeys and there is not God at all and we can do anything we want to because there is no sin.  That is from the devil.  Cast him out of your house and call on Jesus to show you the way to heaven.

It is better to dwell in a desert land.   To pray, to worship God, to know that He alone can give us joy in our hearts when we live in His holy presence.   Jesus was in the desert land for forty days and forty nights and the devil came and tempted Him.  Because Jesus was in prayer and meditation with God the devil was angry.  Sometimes in our lives we too must go to a desert land and wait on the Lord to show us His will for our llives.  He will protect us and guide us in the right direction.  Trust Him. Believe Him.  He is our heavenly Father who love us with an everlasing love.

Let us pray for all the wicked people we see on a daily basis.  They need Gods forgiveness and mercy.  Gods word says. The violence of the wicked will sweep them away.  Prov. 21,7a  Pray for our children will stay away from violence and rebellion.  God loves them all and they need our prayers.  Amen

To the everlasting Father and to the Son who reigns on high be all the glory, the honor and the praise because He has given us His word to read and to obey it.  It is joy to the righteous to do justice. Prov. 21.15a  With Gods help we can do great things.  Give us wisdom o Lord that cometh from your holy presence.  Amen

Speak with familiarity and cofidence to our heavenly Father who hears us what we have down deep in our hearts. He is more than your dearest friend. Speak to Him about your life, your future plans, your troubles and your needs.  He is your heavenly Father who loves you so much. But Yahweh weigh the hearts.  Prov. 21.2b   God, as your heavenly Father will lead you in the way in which you will go.  He clearly understands what is in your heart.

Today I have received a love letter from my heavenly Father who loves me so much.  I opened it up and He said to me. ...He who follows after righteousness and kindness, finds life.  Prov. 21.21a   Thank you heavenly Father for speaking to me today.  Thank you for the wisdom to find righteousness and kindness in Your heart and You desire that we too have this treasure in our heart in order to find true life.
