Proverbs, Chapter 13

13:1 A wise son [hears] his father's instruction; But a scoffer does not hear rebuke.

13:2 A man will eat good by the fruit of his mouth; But the soul of betrayers [will eat] violence.

13:3 He who guards his mouth keeps his life; [but] he who opens his lips wide will have destruction.

13:4 The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent will be made fat.

13:5 A righteous man hates lying; But a wicked man is loathsome, and comes to shame.

13:6 Righteousness guards him who is upright in the way; But wickedness overthrows the sinner.

13:7 There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing: There is one who makes himself poor, yet has great wealth.

13:8 The ransom of a man's life is his riches; But the poor hears no threatening.

13:9 The light of the righteous rejoices; But the lamp of the wicked will be put out.

13:10 By pride comes only contention; But with the well-advised is wisdom.

13:11 Wealth gotten by vanity will be diminished; But he who gathers by labor will have increase.

13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick; But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.

13:13 Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself; But he who fears the commandment will be rewarded.

13:14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life, That one may avoid the snares of death.

13:15 Good understanding gives favor; But the way of betrayers is hard.

13:16 Every prudent man works with knowledge; But a fool flaunts [his] folly.

13:17 A wicked messenger will fall into evil; But a faithful ambassador is health.

13:18 Poverty and shame [will be to] him who refuses correction; But he who regards reproof will be honored.

13:19 The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul; But it is disgusting to fools to depart from evil.

13:20 Walk with wise men, and you will be wise; But the friend of fools will smart for it.

13:21 Evil pursues sinners; But the righteous will be recompensed with good.

13:22 A good man leaves an inheritance to the sons of his sons; And the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous.

13:23 Much food [is in] the tillage of the poor; But there is that which is destroyed by reason of injustice.

13:24 He who spares his rod hates his son; But he who loves him chastens him diligently.

13:25 The righteous eats to the satisfying of his soul; But the belly of the wicked will want.

I can sing in the middle of every storm that comes along. Jesus is right there to calm every tempest that tries to overcome each one of us.   Proverbs 13.17a  A wicked messenger will fall into evil.   We need to pray for all wicked messengers that are all over the place.  Specially at work.  Those who gossip and say bad things about us.  Pray for them when you get home from work.  Ask Jesus to save their souls.   Let them not allow to fall into evil instead ask Jesus to help them and save them.  Jesus told us to bless those who curse us.

The biggest battle you will face in your life it is the appointment with God in prayer and meditation on His word.  Keep it.  The devil does not want us to be closer to God.   The light of the righteous rejoices.  Prov. 13.9a   After your meditation with Your Lord, the light of Jesus will shine through you and you will be a witness to the ends of the earth.

Evil pursues sinners.  But the righteous will be recompensed with good.  Prov. 13.21  We are so glad to know that souls were saved and they  are on their way to heaven.   Continue to pray for sinners who are lost and evil is pursuing them on fa daily basis.  Jesus save all those who are far away from You and bring the to church to get save.  In Jesus name.  Amen

Hope deferred makes the heart sick.   My hope is in Jesus alone.  He will help us when we fall and He will lead our way in the right direction.  Let us pray for those who are far away from God.  they are heart sick because they lost all hope of getting along with others.  Dear Jesus, save these souls that need you today.  Amen

Are we bearing the marks of a true disciple who loves Jesus with all their heart, mind and soul?  Jesus told each one of us.  Go ye therefore unto the whole world and preach the gospel to every creature.   How do we start preaching the gospel to every creature?  A.  Reading the bible.  B. Praying and fasting.  C.  Asking Jesus to show us His will.  D. Sharing the gospel to everyone we see in the street.

I've heard false prophets say that we should forget what Christ taught and go ahead and lay up treasures on earth for the sake of our children because of Proverbs 13:22. "Well, that's what scripture says!" they chirp as they laugh in their sleeves. "Don't blame me! That's what scripture says!"

I believe the inheritance mentioned here is a spritual one that lasts forever and leads to an eternity on streets paved with gold.

By the false prophets' worldly and money-mad interpretation of Proverbs 13:22, Abraham sure left his offspring in a bad way down in old Egypt--all that slavery and stuff. And the many hard-working but poor farmers throughout history are lousy Christians. Filthy rich fathers that never taught their children to pray and love God or even spent a second of quality time with them are the "righteous" ones.

What doesn't occur to these money-hungry scripture twisters is someone like my own dear father who died flat broke from a second stroke in 1987. Before dying, my father could pray the heavens down on you. In fact, he prayed the infilling of the Holy Ghost upon me and the Joy of the Lord has never left me because of his prayers. Now THAT'S an inheritance that no amount of money can buy!

I had "PRAYING FATHER" inscribed on his gravestone because of this.
