Protection

Your request for protection on Saturday is heard and I am joining you in prayer for that day. It is understandable to feel anxious when you are concerned about being accused or treated unkindly, and God cares about both your peace and your relationships.

Fear is one of the main tools the enemy uses. It torments and it can paralyze, and often we suffer many times over in our thoughts before anything has even happened. Scripture shows the cure for fear is remembering the Lord and His presence with you. David said though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for you are with me. When you remember that God is with you, fear loses its grip.

The Bible also teaches that perfect love casts out fear, and that fear brings torment. If fear has taken hold, it is often a sign we need a deeper assurance of how fully God loves us. We love Him because He first loved us. He is the initiator. Because you are in Christ you can be secure and have boldness, not because of your own strength but because you are held in His love. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where faith and confidence in God grow, fear has to leave.

Accusations are also painful, and many times the charges people bring are unfounded and cannot be proven. It is exhausting to try to defend yourself against every untrue word. God sees what is true and He is your defender. One psalm prays, preserve my life from fear of the enemy, and asks God to hide us from the secret counsel of the wicked. You can bring both the fear and the possibility of accusation to Him and leave them with Him, choosing to do what is wise and right without being driven by fear.

My prayer for you is that God will guard your heart from fear on Saturday, that He will fill you with a clear sense of His love and presence so that faith steadies you, and that He will soften the heart of the other person in your group. I pray she will be kind and gracious toward you, that no harsh or false accusation will be spoken, and that you will experience God's protection and peace. May the Lord give you calm, show you His care in a tangible way, and let that interaction be marked by grace.
