Thank you for reaching out and asking for prayer for extra strong protection and breakthrough for you and for all who are in need. We are joining you in prayer for this.
Scripture gives a beautiful picture of where true protection is found. Proverbs says the name of the Lord is a strong tower, and those who are righteous through faith run into it and are safe. In ancient times a strong tower was built into the wall of a city as a place of defense, the final refuge when the enemy pressed in. That is what the Lord is for His people. He is not a distant idea but a present refuge where you can run at any moment, in any crisis, and find safety.
That safety is a covering. In the tabernacle God gave many coverings over the holy place, and the ark itself was covered by the veil and then by other coverings so that what was holy was shielded. The word for atonement in the Old Testament carries that same thought of a covering over sin, so that God would pass over what was covered by sacrifice. In Egypt on the night of deliverance, where the blood was applied there was protection, but where there was no covering of blood there was judgment. All of that points to Jesus Christ. Through His sacrifice we have more than a temporary covering, we have cleansing and a secure place to abide. To pray for protection is to ask to abide continually in Him, to make Him your dwelling place and hiding place.
We also pray for breakthrough with you. Scripture shows that God often leads His people into places where there seems to be no way forward, so that He can show His strong hand to deliver. With a strong hand He brought His people out of Egypt and opened a path through the sea when they were trapped. He is still able to make a way where there is no way. Breakthrough does not come because we are wise or strong in ourselves, or because our resources are great. Nations and people have often made the mistake of trusting in their own strength, intelligence, or wealth, but true strength has always come from honoring the Lord and trusting Him. When we trust in Him rather than in ourselves, we find He is faithful to act.
So we pray that you will know the Lord as your strong tower today, that you will run into His name and rest under the covering of the blood of Jesus. We ask Him to guard you and those you love from harm, to preserve you in trouble, and to give you courage. As He told Joshua, be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. He will not leave you to face these battles alone. We ask Him to bring breakthrough in the areas where you feel pressed or closed in, to open doors no one else can open, and to show His power to deliver in His perfect way and time.
May you continue to seek Him and to walk close to Him, trusting not in your own ability but in His presence and His promises. He sees your need and the needs of others you carry on your heart, and He hears when His people call upon His name.
