Silas
Beloved of All
Your heartfelt prayer has been heard, and thank you for pouring out your heart with such love for your children and such dependence on the Lord Jesus. The desire you express for protection, peace, healing, and unity is precious to God, and He invites you to bring every detail to Him.
Scripture teaches that your relationship with God is the central axis on which every other relationship turns. When that vertical relationship is right, the other relationships begin to come into balance. You cannot hope to see peace in the home, in friendships, or in family bonds until the heart is first at peace with God. That is why the first concern is not merely to fix people or circumstances, but to be rooted in a deep, intimate, loving relationship with Him, not a merely legal or ritual one. God has adopted those who trust in Christ into His own family. He wants you to know Him as Father, to come to Him as His child, and to love Him and be assured of His love for you. When you return to that first love, when you seek Him with hunger for His Word and fellowship with Him, He brings correction and healing to every other area.
God knows how to deliver His people. As He delivered Lot even while the surrounding culture was deeply corrupt, so He knows how to guard you and your children today. A polluted environment will always try to touch and affect a family, but the Lord is able to set a hedge around you, to command His angels to encamp around those who fear Him, and to clothe you in the full armor He has provided, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is His Word. His promise stands that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and that the peace He gives will guard your hearts and minds and surpass all understanding.
In His Word, marriage is revealed as a covenant relationship, a lifelong union of one man and one woman. It is in that covenant that love, faithfulness, and the gift of living together are meant to dwell. When that design is set aside, Scripture shows again and again the pain that follows. Even in the early families where that design was not followed, jealousy, rivalry, and division quickly appeared. Living together outside of marriage is not marriage, and it does not carry the rights or the commitment of marriage. Out of love, God calls His children to purity and to honor Him with their bodies and their homes. So we do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, but we do ask Him to draw hearts to repentance with loving kindness, to grant clarity, and to restore a desire for what honors Him.
For your older daughter, we join you in praying that the Lord will gently break every ungodly tie and controlling influence, whether from the young man or from his mother who has overstepped her place. We pray that any pride, manipulation, or false sense of commitment would lose its hold, that her eyes would be opened to see the disrespect, dishonesty, and selfishness you have described, and that she would not idolize or obey a man to whom she is not married, nor put him before her family, her health, her work, and her faith. We pray that she would hunger for home again, for the supportive family God has given her, and for fellowship built on respect and love. We pray that she would find her worth in Christ alone, that she would honor her parents as God commands, for that family bond is given high priority in His eyes, and that if it is His will for her to marry, He would provide a godly husband who respects her and your family, provides well, and walks faithfully with the Lord. And even for this young man and his mother, we pray for salvation if they do not know Christ, that any dark or deceptive influence would flee, and that the Lord would frustrate every plan that seeks to bring division, isolation, and chaos.
We also thank God with you for your younger daughter and for the respectful young man in her life. We pray the Lord will keep that courtship pure and honorable, that it would remain kind and gentle, especially toward your son, and that it would be protected from jealousy, mocking, and corruption. May she continue to stand steadfast, to say no to any path that would lead away from the Lord, to grow in Godly friendships, to be strengthened in her studies and health, and to excel in what God has given her to do. As you have seen a beautiful loyalty between family members in the story of Ruth and Naomi, where a daughter-in-law clung in love and a kinsman redeemer provided covering and care, so we pray for an unbreakable, respectful, and loving bond between you and all your children.
For your son, we pray with you for the healing that comes by the stripes of Jesus. We ask the Lord to lift anxiety, trauma memories, rigidity, and sensory distress, and to restore calm, gentleness, joy, and satisfaction. We pray He will surround your son with peace, fill his surroundings with light and favor, and anoint those who care for him to bring out the best in him. We pray the same healing touch for your own needs and for your daughters, for breathing, for strength, and for every physical distress, remembering that with God nothing shall be impossible.
We pray that your home would be a beacon of His light, filled with kind words, pure thoughts, laughter, and fellowship, that every door and room would be under His keeping, and that you would walk in the example of blessing even those who have shown hostility, sharing, edifying, and seeking reconciliation as far as it depends on you, while still guarding what is holy.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we ask for Your holy protection over this mother and her children, over their minds, hearts, bodies, and spirits, over their home, yard, and vehicles, and over every step they take at work, school, and in daily activities. Fill them with Your peace and joy, grant them favor and wisdom, and let them be lights wherever they go. Remove fear, confusion, and every spiritual attack, rebuke jealousy, spite, and manipulation, and let those influences never return. Restore the loving and respectful bond within this family, heal what is broken, and let Your will be done in each life. Draw each heart back to that first love for You, establish them as Your adopted children who know You as Father, and let every other relationship be set right as their relationship with You is made strong. We trust You for complete restoration, protection, and breakthrough, and we declare that this day and this family belong to You. Amen.
