Your prayer reflects a deep love for your children and a sincere desire to see your home covered by the presence and protection of Jesus Christ, and that desire is right and good. The Lord hears the prayers of a parent who brings her family before Him daily, pleading the blood of Christ over their minds, hearts, bodies and spirits, and asking for His peace that passes all understanding to guard them.

Scripture teaches us to put on the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. It is right to ask the Lord to set a hedge of protection around your home, your children, your vehicles and every place you go, and to ask Him to send His ministering angels to encamp around you. No weapon formed against those who belong to Christ shall ultimately prosper, not because we have power in ourselves, but because we are kept in Him. As you pray for peace in your home and for fear, chaos and every negative influence to be removed, continue to bring those requests to Jesus, trusting His authority over every spiritual attack and His power to make dark and deceptive influences flee.

You have also prayed earnestly for healing for your son and for your daughters. I want to encourage you with what Scripture shows us about healing. Jesus healed in many different ways. Sometimes He healed instantly with a touch, sometimes with only a word from a distance, sometimes gradually. There is one account where healing came in stages, reminding us that God is not confined to a single pattern. All true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or through the slow and steady processes He Himself built into our bodies. Nature itself is His creation, and the restorative processes within us are divine as well. At times His healing touches the body, at other times He brings deep healing to the mind and emotions, mending wounds, calming anxiety, and restoring peace where there has been trauma and distress.

We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others walk a longer road. Even the apostle Paul prayed three times for what he called a thorn in the flesh, and the Lord answered not with immediate removal but with sustaining grace. That does not mean we should stop praying for physical healing. Isaiah prophesied that the Messiah would bear our sicknesses, and Matthew applies that to the physical healings Jesus performed, and we remember at communion that His body was broken for us. So we pray boldly for your son, for calmness, gentleness, freedom from PTSD memories, rigidity and sensory distress, for joy and obedience and satisfaction in his daily life, and for wise and dedicated caregivers who will bring out the best in him. We pray for your daughters as well, for relief from asthma and from POTS, for strength in studies and work, and for overall health in body, mind and spirit, while resting in the confidence that God in His wisdom will do what is best and will give grace for each day. He is able to heal instantly, He is able to heal gradually, and He is able to heal the inner person even as we wait.

You have shared honestly about the strain in your family, and especially about your older daughter. It is right that you have discerned the seriousness of a couple living together outside of marriage. Scripture is clear that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy and sharing a home as husband and wife belong within that covenant. Living together does not create a marriage, and it does not give the rights or responsibilities of marriage. It is loving to pray, as you have, that the Lord would speak to your daughter about this, draw her with His kindness to repentance, and lead her into a life of purity that honors Him. We will not ask God to bless a relationship that stands outside His design, but we do pray for both your daughter and this young man, and for his family, that any ungodly tie, any control, manipulation, jealousy or deceptive influence would be broken, that schemes to divide your family would be frustrated, and that if it is not the Lord's will for them to be married, the relationship would end clearly and peacefully. If they are to have any future, let it be built on repentance, faith in Christ alone for salvation, and a commitment to pursue purity and marriage in the Lord's way and in the Lord's timing. We also pray that your daughter's worth would be firmly rooted in Christ, that her gratitude for her family, her faith, her friendships and her work would be restored, and that she would have wisdom and courage to make choices that honor God rather than following another person's demands.

For your younger daughter, we join you in thanking God for a respectful and kind courtship. Pray that the Lord will keep that relationship pure, centered on Christ, and protected from any corrupting influence. Pray for Godly friendships around both of your daughters, for wisdom to say no to any path that would lead away from the Lord, and for strength to remain steadfast, grateful, and focused on the purpose God has for each of them.

God places a high value on purity within the home and within His family of believers. Just a little impurity can affect the whole body, as yeast works through dough, and the Lord desires to protect the purity of His people because He loves them. That is why walking in holiness matters so much, especially as we look for Christ's return. At the same time, God has ordained the family to be a place of mutual care and responsibility. Children and grandchildren have a first responsibility to honor and care for their own, and the wider family of God is meant to be a source of strength where each member supports the others. Pray for that unbreakable, Godly bond of love, respect and togetherness to be restored between you and your children, with words that are kind, thoughts that are pure, and actions guided by the Holy Spirit. Ask the Lord to let your home be a place where His light is evident to all who enter, filled with laughter, fellowship and peace.

Continue to bring every detail before Him, your children's work and school, their activities, your desire that they would be lights for Christ where He has placed them, your need for efficiency without exhaustion, and your longing for favor and protection. Trust that He who delivered His people in the past and calls us to remember His deliverance is still the same Deliverer today. With Him nothing is impossible, as the angel told Mary, and He is working even when we cannot see the full answer yet. Keep seeking Him, keep speaking truth in love, and keep resting in the peace and joy that come from belonging to Jesus.
