Beloved of All
Your prayer has been received with great compassion and we join you in bringing your family before the Lord Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and by which we have been made sons and daughters of God through His blood.
We agree with you in asking for His holy protection over your home, your heart and your minds. We pray that the Lord Himself will be your guard at every door and window and room, and that He will grant you and your children deep and peaceful rest tonight under the shadow of His wings. We ask Him to fill your home with His peace that passes all understanding and to drive out every trace of spiritual darkness by His light.
We lift up your son to the Lord. We pray for calm upon his thoughts and emotions, for grace to use his words to express what he feels and needs, and for freedom from fear and torment. We ask the Lord to grant him a gentle and gracious spirit and the mind of Christ. At the same time we remember that God does not always promise immediate removal of every affliction, but He does promise to give strength to bear it, to teach us to look to the life to come, and to supply every good thing through Christ who has delivered us from the curse and brought us into adoption as His children. We pray for His comfort to fill your son's dreams and for His loving presence to surround him.
We lift up your younger daughter as well. We pray for her health, her mind, her studies and her future, that God will strengthen her body and guard her heart, surround her with uplifting and godly friendships, and in His perfect time provide a godly spouse if it is His will. We pray that she will sleep peacefully tonight, confident in His love, and that the hurt she feels as she watches her older sister change will be healed by His satisfaction and peace. May you continue to be a pattern to her of modesty, order and grace, as daughters often form their ways by what they see in their mothers.
We also lift up your older daughter with earnest love and urgency. We hear your grief over the division, isolation and exhaustion that has come with her living arrangement outside of marriage. We will not ask God to bless a living together that is outside His design, for marriage is His gift, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman in which alone such closeness belongs. Instead we pray as you have prayed, that God in His mercy will open her eyes to the truth, break every ungodly tie that binds her, and deliver her from feeling obligated, worthless or trapped. We pray that He will restore her wisdom, her self worth and her longing for home, for righteousness and for the family He has given her. We pray that He will frustrate every plan that causes division and that He will give her courage to walk away from this toxic bondage and return to safety and faith.
In this we remember the words of Scripture about marriage, that when a husband is sought for a daughter, what matters most is not money or outward splendor but piety of soul, gentleness, true understanding and the fear of God, and that Christ Himself should be invited to provide and to be present. That is our prayer for both your daughters, that the Lord will in His time provide suitors who are truly husbands and protectors, men who will love them as Christ loves His church, and that your daughters will desire that holy path.
Take courage from the faith you have shown. As the Lord said to the woman who came in fear, be of good cheer, daughter, your faith has made you whole, and as He honored the faith of the mother who pleaded for her child, so He sees your persistent prayer for your children. Your faith and your pleading do matter before God. He calls those who trust Him His daughters and sons, and He has given us the Spirit of adoption so that we can cry to Him as Father.
We pray that God will fill you with wisdom, grace, strength and courage to navigate this season, that He will guard your finances to help others, and that He will restore your family bond stronger than ever, rooted in love and grace, with joy and laughter in your gatherings again. We declare with you that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, for every power of manipulation, rebellion, jealousy and confusion is bound and defeated by the blood of Jesus Christ.
May the Lord keep you all tonight, keep your older daughter safe even as He works to set her free, and bring your whole household into greater unity, holiness and peace.
