Your prayer comes through with deep love for your children and a sincere desire to see them guarded and whole, and that desire is right before the Lord. It is good to plead the blood of Jesus Christ over your home and to ask for His protection over every heart and mind and room within it. Scripture promises that those who dwell under the shelter of the Most High rest in His shadow, and that His peace which passes all understanding can guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

For your son, I join you in asking the Lord for calm over his thoughts and emotions and for rest free from fear and torment. God is able to give quietness and to help him use clear and functional language to express what he feels and needs. Pray for the mind of Christ to shape his responses with gentleness, and trust that the Father who adopts us as His children through Jesus wants a close, loving relationship with him, not one of fear or confusion. He is an heir of grace through Christ, and the Lord delights to show mercy and to bring comfort to his dreams and his days.

For your younger daughter, I pray with you for protection over her body and mind, for strength in her health and studies and future work, and for the Lord to surround her with uplifting and godly friendships. It is tender and painful when a sister she admires pulls away, and the Lord sees that hurt. Ask Him to fill her with assurance of His love, to keep her steady, and in His perfect time to provide a godly spouse according to His will, as marriage is His design for one man and one woman in a lifelong covenant where love and life together belong.

For your older daughter, your discernment is right to not treat a living arrangement outside of marriage as if it were marriage. Scripture is clear that living together and sharing the intimacies of marriage outside that covenant is not what God blesses, and it often brings exhaustion, isolation and loss of self worth rather than peace. The Bible shows how relationships formed outside God's way bring sorrow. When Jacob's family grew through rivalry and polygamy, there was constant striving for love and great heartache. When Dinah was violated, her brothers said it was a thing which ought not to be done, because God cares about purity and the promises He has for His people. When a king made an ungodly alliance by marrying his son to the daughter of a wicked house, it brought havoc on both families. And when Abraham sought a wife for his son, he sent his servant to his own family of faith rather than to the surrounding culture, because he wanted a marriage rooted in faith.

In the same way, a relationship marked by manipulation, control, division and demands, where time with family must be paid for and where spending habits are placed on another, is not a picture of godly love. Love does not isolate or brainwash or create conditions for family fellowship. I pray with you that every ungodly tie would be broken, that eyes would be opened to truth, and that any hold that keeps her feeling obligated, trapped or worthless would be lifted. Pray that the young man would step back to his own family to mature and that your daughter would find courage to leave that arrangement and return to safety, to home, and to faith. Like Jacob hearing God say to return to the land of his fathers where God would be with him, may she hear the Lord drawing her back to wisdom, to gratitude for the family God has given her, and to the purpose He has anointed her for. God remembered Rachel in her reproach and heard her and opened a new way for her. He hears your tears and cries as well.

For you, I ask the Lord to fill you with wisdom, grace, strength and courage for this season. You are not a servant trying to earn His help, you are His adopted child through Jesus, and He wants you to know how dearly He prizes you. He invites you to come as a Father to a child. Continue to set gentle and clear boundaries in love, to speak truth without harshness, to keep your home a place of light where darkness cannot remain, and to trust that no weapon formed against your family will finally prosper when you remain rooted in Christ.

May the Lord frustrate every scheme to cause division and keep your family in unity, restore love and respect and laughter to your gatherings, and bless your home with His presence. May He provide for your finances so you can help others, and may He keep each of you safe under His wings. I pray for a year of restored bonds, stronger than before, built on His love and grace, with breakthroughs and unexpected mercies that only He can give. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.
