Your honest prayer in the name of Jesus Christ has been heard, and the pain you and your family have carried for these two years is not hidden from the Lord. He sees the medical struggles, the financial pressure, the mental weariness, and the fear that unseen spiritual forces are seeking to harm you. He is indeed your fortress and your healer, and it is right to bring this battle to Him, for Scripture tells us our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness.
The Word shows us that the beginning of wisdom and its whole course is the fear of the Lord, and to fear the Lord is to hate evil and turn away from it. That turning is not just avoiding outward sin, but guarding the heart, the mouth and the path. It means keeping the tongue from deceit, refusing to speak what is false or crooked, departing from what destroys, doing good, and seeking peace and pursuing it. Evil is destructive by nature. It tears apart relationships, harms the body, clouds the mind and corrupts values, and in the end it slays those who cling to it. But the Lord redeems the soul of those who trust in Him, and those who walk in His wisdom are promised a quietness, a freedom from the dread of evil. When we honor the Lord and depart from evil, Scripture connects that walk with health and strength to our lives.
Fear is one of the greatest weapons used against us, and fear grows when we forget the Lord. Remembering Him is the cure for fear. David could say though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil for you are with me, because he remembered the presence of God. When we forget Him, our souls become cast down and disquieted within us. Fear and faith cannot live together. Fear often pushes us to wrong reactions, and the enemy seeks to use it to weaken us. That is why the Lord so often says do not fear the reproach of people and do not be afraid of their insults. They themselves will fade like a garment eaten by moths, but His righteousness and salvation endure forever. The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever puts trust in the Lord is safe. We are taught not to fear those who can only harm the body, but to fear God in holy reverence, which leads us away from evil and into life. We are also called not to be conformed to the ways of the world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, keeping our eyes looking straight ahead, pondering the path of our feet and turning our feet away from every evil way.
God defines evil as that which destroys you and destroys others, and His commands are given to protect us from that destruction. He continually calls us to turn from it so He can forgive and restore. He is able to deliver both from trial and through trial, and He has not left you without hope in this long season.
We pray for you and your family now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we ask You to surround this family with Your protection. Cover them with Your presence, guard their bodies, minds and homes, and break every work of darkness that seeks to harm them. Bring healing where there has been sickness, bring peace where there has been fear, and bring provision where there has been financial breaking. Teach them to walk in the fear of You, to hate what You hate and to love what You love, to keep their lips from deceit and to seek peace. Help them to remember You daily, so that faith rises and fear is driven out. Let them rest in the truth that You are with them in the valley and that no evil can separate them from Your redeeming love. Lead them not into temptation but deliver them from evil, and establish their steps in Your wisdom. Amen.
