We stand with you in prayer before the Lord Jesus Christ, whom you have rightly confessed as healer and fortress, and we bring your family and your burdens before Him.

For two years you have walked through deep pain and unceasing hurdles, and we hear how heavy this season of medical trials and financial and mental strain has been. We also hear your fear that spiritual forces of darkness may be working to bring harm or revenge against you. Scripture assures us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil, and it also assures us that Jesus Christ has triumphed over those powers through His cross and resurrection. No ungodly power can prevail against those who belong to Him, for greater is He who is in you than any force in this world.

In this battle we urge you to keep your heart fixed on Christ and on His Word. When the law of God is written on the heart by the Holy Spirit, as if upon tablets, the evil one cannot even look upon that soul but turns away. This comes by coming continually to the house of healing, hearing the teaching of the Spirit, and then keeping what you have heard before your mind at home, meditating on it and letting it shape your thoughts. A mind that is careful about divine matters and that hangs over the fountain of Scripture finds calm even in the midst of storm and surge, and is not easily puffed up by good circumstances nor crushed by hard ones.

We also encourage you not to walk through this alone. The adversary most eagerly attacks when he finds a person isolated and by themselves, but he is far less confident when he sees the people of God banded together. Continue to flock together with faithful believers, to pray together, to hear the Word together, and to bear one another's burdens. In that fellowship you will find strength, protection, and the reminder that you are not forgotten.

Do not let your understanding remain only on what is seen. To look only at what is before our eyes is to understand in a carnal way and to profit nothing. Look with the eyes of faith within, to the mysteries of God's promises, that He is present, that He is your liberty and security, and that He will use even this evil season for your good. The days are called evil not because God made them so, but because of the evil done in them by men and by spiritual wickedness, yet God remains sovereign and able to bring healing and restoration.

Release any thought of revenge or repayment into the hands of God, for the ways of revenge lead to death and remembering injuries only trains the soul in evil. God allowed warnings about justice not so that we would live in vengeance, but so that we would turn from sin and learn to seek healing from Him alone.

Now we pray for you:

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, the only way of salvation, we ask You to spread Your protection over this family. You see their hidden burdens, their sickness, their weariness of mind and body, and their financial needs. Lay Your healing hand upon them, grant wisdom to those who care for them, and restore strength where there has been long weakness. Guard their home from every work of darkness, silence every voice of fear and accusation, and surround them with Your peace that passes all understanding. Write Your Word deeply on their hearts by Your Holy Spirit, so that they may stand firm, and keep them closely joined to Your people, that they may not be isolated but upheld. Provide for their needs according to Your riches, and let them know in a fresh way that You are their fortress and refuge. We ask this trusting only in the blood and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Amen.
