Beloved of All
You have walked through two years of unrelenting pain, hurdles and medical trials that have pressed on your family physically, mentally and financially, and it is understandable that fear has grown heavy as you wonder if unseen spiritual forces are working against you. Scripture is honest that our battle is not only against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness, and it is equally clear about where safety is found.
Fear grows when we forget the Lord, and it loses strength when we remember Him. David said that even though he walked through the valley of death he would not fear evil because the Lord was with him. Fear can be debilitating and destructive. It can paralyze and it can push us to make wrong decisions out of panic. The enemy often uses fear for that very reason, because fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where fear is allowed to take over, faith is driven away, and where there is strong confidence in God, fear must leave. The call of Scripture is to remember God, to keep your trust fixed on Him, and not to be governed by dread.
That does not mean you should ignore practical wisdom. Take the wise and prudent steps you can for your health, your household and your finances, but let those steps be guided by trust in God rather than by terror of what the enemy might do. If God is your protector He can guard you wherever you are. You do not need to retreat or hide as if safety depends on finding a perfect shelter. He Himself is your fortress and your refuge.
Scripture pictures that refuge as being under His wings, with His truth as your shield. Jesus met spiritual attack with the truth of God's Word, and that same truth remains your defense today. To live in close fellowship with Him, in the secret place of the Most High, is to know His presence in trouble, His deliverance, His answers to prayer, and His promise to show you His salvation. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who reverence Him and delivers them. Trust in the Lord brings safety, while living in fear of people or of spiritual threats becomes a snare.
That reverence for the Lord is not a cringing, phobic terror. It is awe at His greatness and power, a desire to love what He loves and to turn from what He hates. It is the beginning and the sum of wisdom, the starting place for clear thinking and right living. To fear the Lord in this way is to hate evil and to depart from it, and Scripture connects that walk with health and wholeness.
You have rightly acknowledged Jesus Christ as Lord and healer, and it is right to keep asking Him for healing. At the same time much about healing remains beyond our understanding. We do not always know why some are healed instantly and others gradually. All true healing is from God, whether it comes in a moment, over time, through a touch, through a word spoken, or through the natural healing processes He has placed in our bodies. He is not limited to one pattern. Do not accept the false idea that ongoing sickness means you are spiritually weak or lack faith. Bring your medical needs honestly before Him, thank Him for every means of healing He provides, continue to seek good care, and trust His wisdom and timing.
Keep bringing your family before the Lord in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone salvation comes. Ask Him to lift the fear that has weighed on your minds, to guard you from spiritual harm, to provide for your financial needs, and to bring healing according to His will. When fear rises, speak His truth aloud, remind your heart that He is with you, and let faith rather than fear shape your choices.
May the Lord be your fortress and your healer. May His truth be your shield, may He encamp around your family, meet your daily needs, quiet your fears with the assurance of His presence, and bring healing in the way He knows is best, and may He show you His salvation as you walk in fellowship with Him.
