Protection

You ask for protection and breakthrough with an emphasis on extra strength. Let us examine this request together. The desire for protection is good, but we must understand what true protection is. The body is not evil, for it may be made an arm of righteousness. Yet because we are in a hard warfare, we need strong armor and a noble spirit. We need a Commander. The Commander is standing by, ever ready to help us, abiding unconquerable, and has furnished us with strong arms likewise. But having the arms is not enough. We need a purpose of mind to handle them as we should, to obey our Commander and take the field.

You ask for breakthrough. What is the wall that stands before you? It is often your own sleep. If we wake, we shall not need the help of others. But if we sleep, the help of others will profit us nothing. It is a good thing to enjoy the prayer of the Saints, but only when we ourselves are on the alert. Do not say, what need have I of prayer? On this account you need it, because you think that you have no need. Yea, though you become as Paul, you have need of prayer. Do not exalt yourself, lest you be humbled. The strong soldier is not only able to help himself, but also to protect his comrade and to free him from the malice of the enemy. So your prayer for all in need is fitting.

But understand this well. God does not precede our wills with His gifts. When we have begun, when we have sent our will before, then He gives us abundant opportunities of salvation. Though we strive ever so much, we can do no good thing at all except we are aided by help from above. Yet unless we contribute our own share, we shall not be able to obtain help from above. So do not place yourself in a situation to need a miracle while your hands remain idle. There is need not of pomp of words, but of strong minds, of skill in the Scriptures and of powerful thoughts.

And now hear the ground of all our confidence. He that is our High Priest is able to save to the uttermost those who come unto God by Him, since He ever lives to make intercession for them. He hath not left caring for us. This is a sign of very great love, that He addresses Another on our behalf. The Father spared not His own Son for you. Christ died and intercedes for you. The Spirit makes intercession for us with groanings that cannot be uttered. If then you enjoy such great love, why tremble? Why be afraid? Rise up. Take the armor. Let your companions be the poor and free who can rebuke and admonish you, not those who entertain your sloth. Engage them in a spiritual traffic. If you see one needing protection, succor them. Command them to minister. By these clothe the naked, by these send to the prison, put an end to the distresses of others. This is the breakthrough: to cease being entangled by deceit and to set others free who are deceived. Draw them out of dangers. Stand firm. The victory is already proclaimed. The Lord strong and mighty in battle has divided the spoils. Now go and fight.

It is nothing for God to help, whether with those who feel strong or those who know they have no power. The prayer for protection you are offering rises from that very truth. When you cry out for help, you are admitting what every believer must learn again and again: we cannot manage this on our own. We are poor, we are needy, and the arm of flesh will fail. Every other refuge we might run to is a high wall only in our own imagination. So let that honest need drive you fully into the strong tower of the Lord Himself.

The danger we all face is that when seasons of strength or prosperity come, we slowly stop calling on the Lord. We begin to trust our own strategies, our resources, our alliances. We think we can buy our way out of the threat or handle the battle with our own wisdom. That path leads to defeat and spiritual decline, because our help is not in horses or in the kingdoms of this world. But when we recognize that the battle belongs to the Lord, that it is nothing for Him to help the powerless, then we stop asking for just another self-help technique. We stop looking for a new formula to fix things ourselves. Instead, we cry out for outside deliverance: Help us, O Lord. Who shall deliver me? The answer is always the same: thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

So run into the protection of His name right now. The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe. Let that be your continual habitation, a place you resort to not just in crisis but in every moment. When you go out to face whatever enemy or hardship stands before you, do so confessing that you rest on Him alone. Do not let man or circumstance prevail against your trust in God. As you commit yourself to being fully on the Lord's side, you will find Him to be your rock and your fortress. The spiritual fortification that comes from knowing Him through His Word brings a peace that the world cannot threaten. He will show Himself strong on your behalf, and that breakthrough you long for will come as He leads you into the victory He alone can give.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with your heartfelt plea for extra-strong protection and breakthrough for yourself and all in need. It has been our privilege to stand in agreement with you before the throne of grace, lifting up every concern and asking our Heavenly Father to surround you with His mighty angels, shield you with His unshakable peace, and open doors that no man can shut.

If you have seen God’s hand move in powerful ways—whether through answered prayers, unexpected provision, or a deep sense of His presence—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you! If, however, the battle still feels heavy and the breakthrough hasn’t yet come, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to continuing with you in prayer, believing that God is working even when we cannot yet see it.

May the Lord bless you with unwavering faith and remind you that He is your refuge and fortress. Keep seeking Him, for He is faithful to hear and answer according to His perfect will. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
