Protection, productivity, ongoing needs

We join you in thanking the Lord for His many blessings and we bring your requests before Him with you.

We pray that God will grant you order and good stewardship in your home and kitchen and in all your work, so that your labor may be done with excellence and for His glory. May He establish the work of your hands and give you productivity in every area of life as you give Him thanks and credit for all good things.

We pray for freedom from illness and for healing according to His mercy and wisdom. We pray for your daughter, that the Lord will strengthen her in her work and her schooling, guard her marriage, protect her from all harm and abuse, and keep her in holiness. Marriage is honorable and is to be kept pure, and true holiness in marriage is found in faithfulness and chastity and love. We ask that both your daughter and your son will see themselves as God sees them, as His beloved children created and redeemed in Christ, and that He will close doors that would lead them into harm and open doors to good opportunities and to kind Christian fellowship that will encourage them in the Lord. As Scripture teaches, youth needs careful guidance in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and we pray that God will form good habits and wisdom in them that will be like a law written on their hearts.

We pray for your son's safety as he rides, asking the Lord to keep him and to give him wisdom and caution on every journey. We pray that the Lord will direct his steps toward the future wife God has for him, and that He will help him to keep himself pure and undefiled before marriage, so that he may enter marriage with a body and heart kept for that covenant alone. May God prepare them both to love with ardor and faithfulness within the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman as He designed it.

We pray for healing of hearts and for broken relationships, that God will bring forgiveness, reconciliation where it is possible and wise, and peace where there has been pain. We ask that He will teach you all to love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and to love one another more deeply by His power. We pray for an increase of the fruit of the Spirit in your lives and homes, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control, and for safety in all your travels.

We ask the Lord to deliver you from evil and to surround you with His protection and favor. We do not claim His promises as formulas, but we trust in His character revealed in Psalm 91 and Psalm 121, in Isaiah 54:17, in 1 John 4:4, in 2 Thessalonians 3:2-3, and in the hope of Revelation 21:5 that He is making all things new through Jesus Christ. May He be your refuge and keeper, faithful to strengthen and guard you from the evil one.

We give all glory and praise and credit to the Lord, and we ask all these things in the name of Jesus, our only hope of salvation, Amen.

Thank you for sharing so much of your heart and bringing your family before the Lord with thanksgiving. It is good to hear your gratitude for the blessings God has already given and your desire to give Him all the credit as you seek greater order, stewardship and productivity in your home and work. God is honored when we want our daily lives, even the practical areas like the kitchen and the responsibilities of work, to reflect excellence for His glory.

The Lord sees you completely. Nothing about your home, your needs, your children, or your own hearts is hidden from Him. He looks with compassion and sympathetic understanding on our weaknesses and needs, and He draws near in personal care. Just as Jesus was told about the fever that kept one loved one confined to bed, and He came to her, took her by the hand and lifted her up until the fever left and she was able to serve again, so He still comes with that same personal touch. Only God can bring true healing, whether it is healing of the body from long standing illness, healing of hearts, or healing of broken relationships. We will join you in asking Him for that healing work and for freedom from patterns of sickness that have weighed on your family.

Your prayers for your daughter and your son are beautiful. You ask that they would see themselves as God sees them, that doors leading to harm would be closed and doors to good opportunities and kind Christian fellowship would be opened, that your daughter would be protected and strengthened in her work, her schooling and her marriage, and that your son would be kept safe and guided toward a godly marriage in the Lord's timing. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and that when we follow Jesus we enter a deeper family bond in Him. That bond in the body of Christ is often even stronger than natural family ties, because we are united through Christ. It is right to pray for faithful Christian connections who will encourage your children to walk closely with Jesus, to love Him with all their heart, soul, mind and strength, and to grow in love for one another.

As we pray for protection on the road, safety in all travel, including your son on his motorcycle, and for a hedge of protection from evil according to the promises you mentioned in Psalm 91 and 121, Isaiah 54:17, 1 John 4:4, 2 Thessalonians 3:2 to 3, and Revelation 21:5, we also remember what Jesus taught and lived. He went about doing good and healing all kinds of sickness, and He taught us to love one another, to forgive, to be merciful and not to strive. Growing in the fruit of the Spirit is the evidence of His work in our homes, and we will ask God to increase that fruit in each of you.

One thing we are reminded of as we pray for healing and protection is that our greatest need is always spiritual. It is natural to focus on the healing of the body and on outward circumstances, but the deepest problem in every life is sin, and the greatest gift is forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ alone. It is better to enter eternal life whole in Him than to have every earthly need met without Him. So while we earnestly bring your requests for health, safety, order and provision to the Father, we also pray above all that each member of your family would know the assurance of sins forgiven and new life in Christ, for that is the foundation for every other blessing.

We also take comfort that God is our Redeemer who restores families. As He provided a redeemer to preserve a family name and to bring forth hope for generations to come, so Jesus Christ redeems and restores us completely. He is faithful to keep His promises and to make all things new.

Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank You for this family and for Your blessings already poured out. We ask You to bring increasing order and diligence in their home and work, that they may be productive and faithful stewards. Bring healing where there is sickness, comfort where hearts are broken, and reconciliation where relationships have been strained. Protect this daughter in her work, studies and marriage, guard her from harm and abuse, and surround her with wise, godly fellowship. Keep this son safe in his travels, guide his steps, and in Your perfect time lead him to a godly wife for a Christ centered marriage. Help both children to know their true identity in You. Teach this whole family to love You fully and to love one another with mercy and forgiveness, and cause the fruit of Your Spirit to grow richly in their lives and home. Surround them with Your favor, deliver them from evil, and keep them in Your perfect protection and peace. May all glory and praise be Yours. Amen.

We have prayed for your sons safety on his motorcycle and that the Lord will direct him to his future wife. We have prayed for healing of hearts and broken relationships and for help to love the Lord with all your heart and mind and soul and strength and for empowerment to love one another and for an increase of the fruit of the Spirit in your lives and homes. We have prayed for safety in all travels and for deliverance from all evil and for His hedge of protection and favor surrounding you according to His promises in Psalm 91:11 and Psalm 121:7 and Isaiah 54:17 and 1 John 4:4 and 2 Thessalonians 3:3 and Revelation 21:5. We join you in giving all glory and praise and credit to the Lord.
