Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart for your daughter and her friend. I join you in bringing them before the Lord and asking for His watchful care over them wherever they are.
Scripture gives us great comfort in times like this. The Lord Himself is our refuge and our fortress, the God in whom we can trust for safety and peace. One psalm declares that God will command His angels concerning His people to keep them in all their ways and to bear them up in their hands so they will not stumble. Another passage in Hebrews teaches that angels are ministering spirits, created by God and sent forth to serve those who will inherit salvation. They are not to be worshiped, for they worship Jesus and serve Him, but God in His goodness uses them to watch over His children day and night.
We do not put God to the test by acting carelessly, as Jesus showed when He refused to throw Himself down to force God to prove His promise, yet we can rest in quiet confidence that God sees where your daughter and her friend are, He knows every step they take, and His presence goes with them.
I am praying that the Lord will surround them with His protection and keep them from harm and danger, that He will guide their steps with wisdom, strengthen them, and fill them with His peace. May He place His angels around them and let His loving presence be near to them continually, and in His perfect care bring them safely home.
Father, we lift up this daughter and her friend to You. Cover them with Your hand, keep them in all their ways, give them wisdom for every decision and peace in every moment, and guard them day and night until they are safely home. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who alone is our Savior and our hope. Amen.
