We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude and dependence on the Lord, lifting up these earnest petitions in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood that we are cleansed and made worthy to stand before Him. "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). Without Jesus, our prayers are but empty words, for "no one comes to the Father, except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB).
Heavenly Father, we humbly ask that You would indeed establish the work of our hands, just as Your Word declares in Psalm 90:17, "Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us; establish the work of our hands for us; yes, establish the work of our hands." Lord, we desire to steward every moment, every resource, and every opportunity You have given us for Your glory. Guard our words, that they may be seasoned with salt and filled with Your wisdom, so that we may edify and encourage those around us. Open doors for us to touch lives with the love of Christ, that Your name may be magnified.
We plead the blood of Jesus over every member of our families, our homes, our vehicles, our health, and our work. Lord, we ask for Your divine protection to surround us like a hedge, as You promise in Psalm 91: "He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart" (Psalm 91:4 WEB). We claim this promise over our travels, our environments, and every aspect of our lives. Protect our daughter as she welcomes her husband’s rebellious teenage son into her home. Lord, You know her heart and her condition, strengthen her self-esteem in You, remind her of her worth in Christ, and give her the grace to extend love and boundaries as needed. "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31 WEB).
We lift up our son, who is new to driving a motorcycle long distances. Lord, we ask for Your angels to encamp around him, especially as he may face storms or hazardous conditions. Calm his heart and steady his hands, and bring peace between him and his father. "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:18 WEB). Father, we also cry out for single mothers who are overwhelmed and exhausted. Pour out Your strength upon them, provide for their needs, and surround them with a community of believers who can uplift and support them. "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22 WEB).
Lord, we pray for those who are sick or in pain, whether physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Bring healing, comfort, and salvation to their lives, and may they give You all the glory. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3 WEB). Close every door that leads to harm in the lives of our adult children, and open doors of blessing, godly relationships, and opportunities that align with Your will. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, or destroy in our lives and the lives of those we love. "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4 WEB). We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against us in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Deliver us from all evil, and surround us with Your hedge of protection, as You promise in Psalm 121: "Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more" (Psalm 121:5-8 WEB).
Thank You, Lord, for the answered prayers we have already seen and for the ones yet to come. We praise You with all that is within us, for You are faithful, and Your mercies endure forever. "Behold, I am making all things new" (Revelation 21:5 WEB). We trust in You, our Refuge and Strength, and we rest in the shadow of Your wings. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
