We have heard your request and we join you in prayer before the Lord who sees your work and your needs.

We thank God with you for the new leadership and for the reasonableness you have experienced under them. We ask Him to continue to give them wisdom and fairness, and to establish peace in your workplace.

We pray for the protection of your job and for His guidance as you look toward a new position. May the Lord open the right door in His timing, and may the new office where He places you be supportive and positive, a place where you can grow and do your work well. We ask Him to give you a quick and clear mind to learn what you need to learn, and strength and diligence to carry out your duties faithfully.

We also bring before Him those two or three who have conspired to cause you problems. Just as our Lord endured conspiracy and injustice yet remained steadfast, and just as Job endured loss and pressure without turning from God, we ask that you would be guarded from every scheme and false word. May the Lord protect your name and your work, bring truth to light, and keep you from harm. We pray that you would not be moved to anger or fear, but would bear every trial with patience and thankfulness, trusting that God can use even hard things for your good and for His glory.

May He keep you in His care, give you peace in your daily work, and provide for every need as you walk faithfully before Him.

We will continue to pray for you, that you will know His protection, His provision, and His peace.

Thank you for sharing this request and allowing us to pray with you about your work. We have brought your job, your desire for a new position, and the concerns you carry about others at work before the Lord.

Scripture gives us a helpful background that those around Job could not see. While Job and his friends were unaware, there was a conversation in heaven about him. The adversary had been watching Job closely, studying him, and developing a theory about him, claiming that Job only served God because God had placed a hedge of protection around him and blessed him. God is aware of that unseen background in your situation as well. He sees the work you do each day, He sees the new leadership that has been more reasonable, and He sees the plans of the two or three who have conspired to cause you problems. Nothing about your workplace is hidden from Him, and He remains sovereign over what is allowed and what is limited.

Cultures and workplaces have changed since Job's day, yet the same basic problems remain. People still face accusation, misunderstanding, and opposition, and people still carry the same deep needs for security, for vindication, and for someone to stand with them. What happened to Job is recorded to comfort those who come after him, to show that God is at work even when it feels as though He has withdrawn. The hedge that was around Job reminds us that God does set boundaries around His people. The adversary could only go as far as God permitted, and God used even that difficulty within His larger purpose.

That is why we can pray with confidence for your protection. We ask God to continue that hedge around your job, to guard you from false accusation and from any scheme meant to harm you, and to give you wisdom to walk with integrity as Job sought to do when he was falsely accused by his friends. Those friends claimed to comfort him but instead judged him and called him a hypocrite without cause. In a similar way, when coworkers conspire, it is painful and confusing. The right response is not to repay evil or to live in fear, but to entrust yourself to God who judges justly, to remain faithful in the work He has given you, and to let Him be the one who vindicates in His time. In the end God corrected those who had spoken wrongly about Job and restored him, which reminds us that God does see and He does act.

We also join you in thanking God for reasonable leadership. That is a gracious provision, and we pray He will continue to give those leaders discernment and fairness. For your desire to move to a new position, we pray that God will open the right door in His timing, that the new office would indeed be supportive and positive, and that He will equip you to learn what you need to learn there. God has promised to meet our deepest needs through Jesus Christ, who stands between God and humanity and brings us near to God. Through Him we have access to wisdom, strength, and peace for each new task. As you learn new things, ask the Lord daily for understanding and skill, and trust that He who has given you this work will also give you what you need to do it well.

So we pray for you now that the Lord will keep you in your current responsibilities as long as He wants you there, and guide you clearly when it is time to move. We pray He will surround you with favor and protect you from every harmful plan, that He will let truth be seen and give you peace that does not depend on the actions of others. We pray He will prepare a supportive place for you next, with encouraging colleagues, and that He will teach you and establish you in every new skill you need. May He give you quiet confidence that He is working for your good even when pressures feel heavy, and may you experience His nearness through Jesus Christ our mediator.

We will continue to remember you in prayer, asking God to guard you, to guide your steps, and to give you grace to remain steady and faithful in your work.
