We join you in prayer for the protection of your job and we thank God with you for the reasonable new leadership He has provided. We understand the uncertainty you feel as you wait for a new position and the burden of knowing that a few people have conspired to cause you problems. God sees your situation clearly and He cares about your daily work and your provision.
We are reminded that our work is to be done unto the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance, for you serve the Lord Christ, Colossians 3:23-24. We pray that you will continue to work with diligence and integrity in your current role, trusting that God is your ultimate provider and protector. He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, Psalm 46:1, and He promises that Yahweh will keep you from all evil, He will keep your soul, Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward and forevermore, Psalm 121:7-8.
We also lift up those two or three people who have conspired against you. We pray not only for your protection from their schemes but for their hearts as well. Jesus calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, Matthew 5:44, and we are told not to avenge ourselves, but give place to God’s wrath, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19. We ask God to thwart any unjust plans against you, to expose what is done in secret, and to turn the hearts of those who oppose you toward repentance and peace. We pray that you will not be overcome with anxiety or bitterness, but that you will trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.
For your future position we pray together for favor and guidance. We ask that God would open the right door in His perfect timing and that your new office would be supportive and positive, filled with people who encourage good work and kindness. We pray that God will give you wisdom and a quick ability to learn all the new things required there, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, Philippians 4:13, and we trust He will equip you for every task He assigns.
We did notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you how important this is. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, No one comes to the Father except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. We encourage you to bring every request to God in the name of Jesus, trusting in His sacrifice and resurrection for your salvation and for your daily help.
We pray together now. Heavenly Father, we thank You for this dear one and for the job You have provided. We thank You for the reasonable leadership You have raised up and we ask You to continue to protect this job according to Your will. Lord, open the way to a new position in Your timing, and prepare a supportive and positive office where our friend can grow, learn quickly, and use the gifts You have given for Your glory. Grant wisdom, understanding, and favor with supervisors and coworkers. We ask for Your divine protection from those who have conspired to cause harm, frustrate their unjust plans, and let no weapon formed against Your child prosper. Change the hearts of those who oppose, bring conviction and peace where there is strife, and help us all to walk in forgiveness. Fill our friend with Your peace that surpasses understanding and with confidence that You are in control. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
