Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your request for protection has been heard and we have prayed for you before the Lord, who sees your vulnerability and does not overlook your fear in the night or your concern for your property by day.
It is understandable to feel exposed when threats of theft and even witchcraft are near, and when someone you love is walking through the hardship of Parkinson's disease. Scripture reminds us that you are of more value than many sparrows, and that while people may be able to threaten the body, only God holds both body and soul in His hands. For that reason we are taught to fear God in a holy way and not to live in dread of what others may do or claim to do. When Christ was crucified, the prison was burst open and the gates of brass were broken and those who kept the gates of hell cowered in fear before Him. No dark power, no curse, and no threat stands above His power, and those who are in Christ are kept in His hand.
We also remember that God Himself is the cause of all good and the one who gives blessing. He watched over His disciples even when they were tossed at sea in the fourth watch of the night, teaching them to endure with courage and to trust His timing to deliver. He will watch over you in the same way, both in the night hours when you feel most vulnerable and in the day as you go about your work. Theft and wrongdoing come not from necessity but from idleness and sin, and a life of honest labor and watchfulness is according to nature and pleasing to God. It is right to take wise and practical steps to secure your home and property, to seek help from trustworthy neighbors or authorities when needed, and at the same time to rest your ultimate security in the Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps.
We have prayed for you in this way: Father, in the name of Jesus Christ alone, we ask for Your protection over this dear one night and day. Guard their sleep, guard their home and property, and drive away every threat and every work of darkness. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let fear be cast out by perfect trust in You. We also lift up their loved one who has received the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. We ask for Your mercy, Your sustaining grace, Your comfort in weakness, and Your healing according to Your will. Provide skilled care, strength for each day, and peace that guards the heart. Help them both to know they are held, valued, and never alone, and to grow in courage and love for You, which extinguishes sin and strengthens virtue.
Continue to bring your needs to the Lord in prayer, to stay in His Word, and to walk in fellowship with faithful believers who can stand with you and support you. He who has promised to be with you will keep you, and His love will carry you through every watch of the night and every hour of the day.
