Protection from spiritual attacks
We have heard your cry for protection from relentless spiritual attacks upon your body and mind and the disturbances in your sleep and we stand with you together in Jesus' name seeking the Father's covering and peace over you.
We know that these attacks are real for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 Yet we do not fear because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 and the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 Our God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7
We encourage you to daily put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 Clothe yourself with truth, righteousness, the Good News of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God, and pray at all times in the Spirit. When anxious thoughts and torment come upon your mind in the night, take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 Fill your mind before sleep with Scripture and worship and cast all your worries on Him because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. James 4:7
The Lord promises rest to His beloved for He gives sleep to his beloved. Psalm 127:2 and you can declare with the psalmist, I will both lay me down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh, alone make me live in safety. Psalm 4:8 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1

Father in heaven we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and we lift up this dear one to You. We thank You that You are our refuge and fortress, our shield and protector. We ask You to place Your hedge of protection around their body, mind and spirit and around their home and their bed. We rebuke every spiritual attack, every assignment of the enemy, every spirit of torment, fear and sleeplessness and we command it to flee in Jesus' name. Wash them with the blood of Jesus and let Your holy angels encamp around them and keep them in all their ways. Psalm 91:11 Quiet their mind, calm their body, and grant them deep, undisturbed, peaceful sleep. Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, with power and love and a sound mind, and let them awake refreshed and restored to serve You. We declare that no weapon that is formed against them will prosper. Isaiah 54:17 We trust You to establish them and guard them from the evil one. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

Your prayer for protection has been heard and we have carried it to the throne of grace, where our great Shepherd ever lives to intercede for His own.
There is a word of comfort for you in this season of broken rest. The Scripture saith, For so he giveth his beloved sleep. Sleep is the gift of God, and when the body and mind are tossed to and fro, He who neither slumbers nor sleeps keeps watch over His beloved. You with that aching head, that troubled mind, that weariness which will not let you rest, He knows you altogether, your timidity, your anxiety, your constitutional heaviness, and He knoweth how to give rest to His own.
We do not deny that the adversary prowls, for we are as sheep among wolves, and the infernal lions would rend the lambs if they could. But while Christ stands defending His own, He will protect them from the lion and the bear, and will not suffer the least of them to perish. Every true sheep hears His voice and is known of Him, and no power of darkness can pluck them from His hand. If all the forces on earth are not sufficient to save His saint, God will send sufficient reserves from the ranks of the heavenly host to preserve His people.
Let us pray for you now.
O Lord our God, our Shepherd and Keeper, we bring this afflicted one before Thee who is sore beset in body and mind and whose sleep is disturbed. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our great High Priest who can have compassion on us in our infirmity, we ask for Your protection over this Your child. Guard body and mind. Rebuke every spiritual attack and put the adversary to flight. Grant peace to troubled thoughts, and grant sleep that is quiet and restored, for You give sleep to Your beloved and You watch even when we sleep. Help this one to watch and be sober, to stand steadfast, and to be surrounded by faithful fellowship so as not to be left alone before the enemy. Fill the heart with Your peace that passes understanding, and let virtue and trust in Christ cast out fear and disturbance. Your cry for protection has been heard and I have brought you before the Lord in prayer in the name of Jesus.
I understand how wearying it is when attacks seem relentless on both body and mind, and when sleep itself is disturbed. The enemy seeks to harass and to wear down your strength, but the Lord is your defense.
Scripture gives a beautiful picture of a shepherd in that land who would make an enclosure of thorn bushes for his sheep, with only one opening. At night the shepherd himself would lie down in that opening and sleep there. No sheep could wander out and no wolf could get in without crossing over him. Jesus said He is the door for His sheep, and that is your protection. You belong to Him, and nothing can reach you without passing through Him first. He Himself lies between you and every spiritual attack.
Like those who rebuilt the wall under constant harassment, the right response is both spiritual and practical. They made their prayer to God and they set a watch day and night. So we pray and we also keep watch. That means guarding your heart and mind with the truth of God, filling your thoughts with His Word, and remembering the Lord. Remembering who He is, how great and faithful and present He is, is the cure for fear. You do not need to exhaust yourself trying to answer or fight every disturbing thought or sensation in your own strength. That will only wear you out more. Instead, rest behind the protection He provides.
God has promised that His people will dwell safely and even sleep in peace, and that He sends showers of blessing in their season. He is able to give sleep as a gift, and Scripture shows He can even cause a deep sleep to fall on those who intend harm, so that they cannot carry out their plans. Ask Him to command peaceful sleep for you.
Let the Word of God be your keeper. The commandment is a lamp and the teaching is a light. When you keep His Word in your heart and meditate on it, it will keep you when you sleep and speak to you when you awake. It guides and guards you continually.
You are called to be watchful and sober, not in anxious fear but in quiet confidence, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and the helmet of the hope of salvation. Whether you are awake or asleep you are still with Him and in Him. Death itself is only called sleep for the believer because to be with Christ is to be alive together with Him in every condition. That truth can comfort you when night feels long.
