We join with you in seeking the Lord’s protection, especially during a time when darkness seems to be celebrated in the world. Halloween is a season where many are distracted by fear, occult practices, and ungodly influences, but we know that our God is sovereign over all things, and no evil can stand against His power. You have done well to bring this request before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Christ that we have authority over the enemy and access to the throne of grace.
The Scriptures remind us that we are not ignorant of the devil’s schemes (2 Corinthians 2:11), and we are called to resist him, steadfast in faith (1 Peter 5:8-9). The Lord is your refuge and fortress, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). When you feel overwhelmed or targeted by the enemy’s attacks, remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We also notice your request to be forgotten by people except your family. While we understand the desire for safety and peace, we encourage you to consider whether this prayer aligns with God’s purpose for your life. You are called to be a light in the darkness (Matthew 5:14-16), and sometimes that means being visible to those who need to see Christ in you. Instead of asking to be forgotten, perhaps pray for God’s protection over your reputation and interactions, that He would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7) and give you wisdom in how to engage with others. Trust that if the Lord wants you hidden for a season, He will accomplish that, but also be open to how He may want to use you as His ambassador, even in small ways.
As for the fear of harm, we rebuke any spirit of fear or intimidation in the name of Jesus. The Lord is your shield and your exceedingly great reward (Genesis 15:1). No weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and the Lord will contend with those who contend with you (Isaiah 49:25). Rest in His promises, knowing that He watches over you day and night.
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up Your child before You, asking for Your mighty protection to surround them like a shield. Lord, You are their hiding place, and under Your wings they find refuge. We ask that You would expose and thwart any plans of the enemy to bring harm, fear, or confusion into their life. Rebuke every evil spirit that seeks to oppress or attack them, and let Your angels encamp around them (Psalm 34:7).
Father, we also pray for Your peace to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. If there is any fear or anxiety, we ask that You would replace it with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Give them discernment to recognize the schemes of the enemy and wisdom to walk in Your truth. If there are people in their life who seek to do harm, we pray that You would either change their hearts or remove their influence. Let Your child walk in confidence, knowing that You are with them always.
Lord, we ask that You would use them for Your glory, even in this season. If there are opportunities to shine Your light, give them the courage to do so. Let them not be hidden out of fear, but let them be hidden in You, secure in Your love and purpose. We declare that no evil shall befall them, nor shall any plague come near their dwelling (Psalm 91:10). Protect their coming in and going out, now and forevermore.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your sovereignty and rest in Your promises. May Your child feel Your presence strongly and know that You are their ever-present help. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and walk in the victory that is already yours through Christ. If fear or doubt creeps in, speak the Word of God over your life and declare His promises. You are more than a conqueror through Him who loves you (Romans 8:37).
