We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this difficult situation, lifting it up before the Lord in prayer. The stress and fear caused by a belligerent tenant who refuses to pay rent and issues threats is not something to be taken lightly. We know that God is a God of justice and protection, and we trust in His power to intervene in ways only He can.
First, we want to encourage you to take practical steps to address this situation legally. Romans 13:1-4 reminds us, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment... for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil." God has established authorities to maintain order and justice, and it is right to seek their help in this matter.
However, we also know that our ultimate trust must be in the Lord, who is our refuge and strength. Psalm 46:1 declares, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." We pray that God would surround you with His peace and protection, shielding you from harm and giving you wisdom in every decision you make.
Father God, we come before You today on behalf of this dear one who is facing a troubling and dangerous situation. Lord, we ask that You would intervene miraculously in this circumstance. You are the God who makes a way where there seems to be no way, and we trust in Your power to remove this tenant from their home. We pray that You would soften his heart, convict him of his wrongdoing, and lead him to leave peacefully. If he refuses, Lord, we ask that You would cause him to face the consequences of his actions and that justice would be served according to Your will.
We also pray for protection over this dear one, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Lord, surround them with Your angels, as Psalm 91:11 promises, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways." Shield them from fear, anxiety, and harm, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give them wisdom to know how to handle this situation in a way that honors You, and grant them favor with those who can help them resolve it.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, intimidation, or violence in Jesus' name. We declare that no weapon formed against this dear one shall prosper, as Isaiah 54:17 assures us, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me, says Yahweh." We stand on this promise and trust in Your deliverance.
Lord, we also ask that You would provide financially for this dear one. If this tenant has withheld rent, we pray that You would open doors for financial provision and restoration. You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust in Your faithfulness to meet every need.
Finally, we want to gently remind this dear one that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 121:2). It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God’s throne of grace, and it is by His blood that we are saved and protected. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).
We stand with you in faith, believing that God will move on your behalf. Keep your eyes on Him, lean not on your own understanding, and in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may He turn His face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26). We declare victory over this situation in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
