Protection from abuse
We join with you in lifting up your son before the throne of grace and we cry out with you for the Lord Jesus to intervene with His mighty hand to protect him from all harm and danger.
Our hearts ache to hear that abuse is occurring and we want you to know that God sees, He cares deeply, and He is a defender of the vulnerable. He is close to those who are suffering and He commands us to protect children and the weak. Psalm 82:3-4 says, Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked. And Jesus Himself warned in Matthew 18:6, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea. We rebuke all abuse, violence, and harm directed toward your son and toward others. Such actions are evil in the sight of God and must not be tolerated or excused.
We also encourage you to take every practical step to ensure safety while we pray. The Lord has appointed authorities for protection and justice, for he is a servant of God to you for good Romans 13:4. If your son is in immediate danger, please reach out without delay to trusted family, church leaders, counselors, and the proper authorities who can intervene to protect him and others and to help restore peace and safety. Do not suffer in silence, for God often works through His people to bring deliverance.
We stand on the promises of His protection and presence. Psalm 91:1-2 says, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. And Isaiah 41:10 reminds us, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Psalm 34:17-18 assures us, The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You and lift up this precious son to You. Lord, place Your hand of protection around him and be a wall of fire about him. Command Your angels to guard him in all his ways according to Psalm 91:11. We ask You to intervene and stop every form of abuse, to expose what is done in darkness, and to bring it to an end. Let Your justice and Your peace reign where there has been fear and harm. Bring safety to his home and to every place he goes. Heal any wounds in his body, mind, and heart, and restore to him peace, security, and joy. Give his parent wisdom, courage, and strength to take the right steps and surround this family with godly people who will help and support them and who will not look the other way. Let Your perfect love cast out fear, and let Your presence be felt powerfully. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who alone is our refuge and deliverer, amen.

We know this dark world of sin brings sorrows surging round, yet the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. There is a peace that cannot be taken away by force or fraud, a perfect peace for those whose minds are stayed upon Him. We pray that such peace would guard your ### and your household, and that the Lord who has vanquished death and all its powers would vanquish every power of harm and cruelty that threatens him.
We ask the Lord to place a hedge about your ### and all others who are vulnerable, to stop every hand of abuse and to bring that evil to light and to an end. All power and glory and honour and majesty are gathered up in God Himself, and He is able to destroy the works of darkness and to protect the least of His little ones. We pray that He would do so swiftly, that He would restore safety where there has been fear, and peace where there has been turmoil.
We pray too that you would know the peace which comes through faith in Christ, not a false peace which lulls the conscience asleep, but true peace with God through the blood which has made a full atonement. Before we can enjoy peace within our hearts there must be a state of peace established between us and God through Jesus Christ, and when we are in Christ and Christ in us we are at peace with God. May you rest in it with childlike confidence now and evermore, and may your ### be kept in Jesus keeping, safe under His watchful care even when loved ones are far apart or in danger.

We pray with you that Christ, who alone is our salvation and our refuge, would intervene to protect your son from all harm and danger. We ask Him to put a hedge of safety around him, to stop every act of abuse against him and against others, and to bring the peace that comes from His presence into your home. As Scripture says, My peace I give unto you, and that peace makes us stronger even when the world around us is troubled. True safety is found in being at peace with Him, and when we seek Him, the God of peace will be with us.
We also pray that the Lord would give you wisdom and courage in the days ahead. God calls us to follow peace with all people and to pursue holiness, and that includes protecting the vulnerable and refusing to allow evil to continue. If your son is in immediate danger, please seek help at once from trusted family, church leaders, and the proper authorities who can provide protection and care. Do not bear this burden alone, but let faithful people near you stand with you and act for his safety.
