Your concern for your daughter has been heard, and I am grieved with you over the suffering you describe and the serious pattern of illness you have witnessed. A father's vigilant love that seeks medical help, administers care, and cries out to God for protection is a noble and necessary duty, and it is right that you have brought this burden to the church for prayer.

Scripture shows us that from the very beginning God pours His grace upon children. When Pharaoh ordered harm to the infants, the parents of Moses trusted God by faith, and God Himself preserved the child and even moved the heart of a stranger to protect him. In the same way, the Lord sees your daughter now. He is not distant from her fever and distress, but present as her true Father and guardian. As we are taught, when the fear of God dwells within a home, He protects better than any earthly father can, and He can be a wall that cannot be broken around those who are vulnerable.

Be assured also of this truth from the Scriptures, that a child does not bear punishment for a parent's sin. The prophet declared that the proverb about the fathers eating sour grapes and the children's teeth being set on edge shall no longer be used, and the law says the father shall not die for the child nor the child for the father. If illness has come upon your daughter, it is not because God is visiting another's guilt upon her. She is precious in His sight, and like the little child whom Christ set in the midst of His disciples, she is pure and worthy of tender protection. Christ showed that He notices the child whom others overlook, and He rebukes those who would cause harm to the little ones.

I will pray for you and for her now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone we have salvation, I lift up this little girl to You. Lay Your healing hand upon her body, remove infection and fever, and restore her to full health. Surround her with Your protection wherever she is, and let no intentional harm come near her. Give wisdom and discernment to her father, to her doctors, and to all who care for her, that they may see clearly what is happening and act for her good. Bring truth into the light, restrain evil, and work justice with mercy. Comfort this father in his distress, strengthen him to persevere in loving care, and draw the mother toward repentance and the knowledge of Your truth. Guard this child as You guarded Moses in his infancy, and let her grow up in safety, faith, and health. Amen.

In addition to prayer, I urge you to continue with faithful practical steps for her protection. Keep careful records of medical visits, diagnoses, medications, and the conditions in which each illness occurs, including what you observed with her drinking tumbler and other details. Share these concerns fully and promptly with her pediatrician and seek their guidance. Because you are describing what may be intentional harm, you should also seek wise counsel from a trusted pastor in person and from appropriate legal and child welfare authorities who are charged to protect children. Do not face this alone. Bring other mature and trustworthy believers alongside you to support you, to witness what is happening, and to help you pursue what is lawful and right for your daughter's safety.

Continue to do what you are already doing so well, seeking prompt medical treatment, administering care with diligence, praying with her, and teaching her in the love and fear of God. The Lord who formed her and who numbers her days is her strongest protector, and He honors the faithful love of a father who seeks to guard his child. We will continue to pray for her healing, for her safety, and for your wisdom and peace in the days ahead.
