Father God, in Jesus name, please protect me from losing my job - I have taken far too many sick days and leave days this year. Thank you for providing this job, I do not deserve it, yet you saw the need and made a way so beautifully for me to have it. In Jesus name, forgive me for missing work due to my weakness towards wine. I feel so ashamed and embarrassed. This addiction has plagued me for eighteen years, turning to it as an escape from my life stresses which have been immense - yet that is no excuse. It is a temptation, and I fell for it years ago and every day since. Father God, I do not want to carry this burden any longer! It is too heavy, and it is affecting every area of my life. In Jesus name, I lay this wine addiction, the burden of it and everything I have lost because of it at your feet Father God. Please heal me from this addiction, please take this from me and please restore everything I have lost, in Jesus name. I also ask for clarity and direction for my life! Father God, as You know, the change in management has created a toxic work environment, my city is toxic, and my current shared home arrangement with my daughter and her family is very stressful. Please direct my steps and timing for when to apply to a different hospital or department, and when to move to a different city, in Jesus name. Please provide protection over my job, deliverance from this addiction, and direction for my life, in Jesus mighty name, Amen.

We join you in bringing this burden before the Father in Jesus' name and we thank you for your honest and humble confession. You have not hidden your struggle and God honors a broken and contrite heart. We hear your shame and your weariness after eighteen years of turning to wine for escape, and we want you to know there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus as it says in Romans 8:1, and if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9. Your shame does not have the final word, the blood of Jesus does.

We must lovingly speak the truth about this addiction because God calls us to walk in sobriety and freedom. The scripture says Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit in Ephesians 5:18, and Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise in Proverbs 20:1. For eighteen years this has been a snare that has stolen your health, your peace, and has now jeopardized the good job God so graciously provided for you. We rebuke this bondage to alcohol in Jesus' name, for it is not God's will for you to be mastered by anything. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it in 1 Corinthians 10:13. That way of escape is Jesus himself and the power of His Spirit to make you free, for you were called for freedom in Galatians 5:1. We encourage you to cast your burden on Yahweh and he will sustain you in Psalm 55:22, and to hear Jesus say Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest in Matthew 11:28. This deliverance will require daily surrender and practical steps of obedience. We urge you to bring this into the light with a trusted pastor or godly counselor, to seek Christian accountability and wise medical support for withdrawal if needed, and to remove wine from your home and your routine so you are not placing yourself back into temptation. God can heal and restore what has been lost, for He says I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten in Joel 2:25.

We also lift up your job before the Lord with thanksgiving, for you rightly recognize it as His provision. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men in Colossians 3:23. We pray for mercy and protection over your employment despite the many sick and leave days taken, and we encourage you to act with integrity going forward, to be faithful and diligent, to communicate honestly with your employer where appropriate, and to let your renewed sobriety be reflected in reliability and excellence for God's glory.

For your need for direction in the midst of a toxic work environment, a stressful city, and a difficult shared home with your daughter and her family, we pray for God's clear wisdom. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him in James 1:5. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight in Proverbs 3:5-6. He promises I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you in Psalm 32:8. We pray you will not make a hasty move out of stress alone, but that you will wait on the Lord's perfect timing for when to apply to a different hospital or department and when to move to a different city, trusting that He knows the plans He has for you to give you hope and a future in Jeremiah 29:11.

We pray together now, Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace on behalf of our dear sister. We thank You for providing this job and we ask for Your mercy and protection over it. Forgive her for the days missed and for turning to wine, wash her clean by the blood of Jesus and lift this heavy shame. Lord, we lay this eighteen year addiction at Your feet and ask for complete deliverance. Break every chain, heal her body, mind and spirit, fill her with Your Holy Spirit where wine once ruled, and give her strength to walk in sobriety one day at a time. Restore what the enemy has stolen from her life, her health, her relationships and her witness. Grant her wisdom and clarity for each next step, show her clearly when to stay and when to go, when to apply and when to move, and let Your peace guard her heart. Provide a peaceful home and a work place where she can flourish and serve You. Sustain her, keep her, and let her know she is deeply loved and not alone. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We have been reading your prayer and we want you to know we hear the weight you are carrying. ### years is a long time to battle something that leaves you feeling ashamed, and it takes real honesty to lay it down before God the way you have. We also hear how much you value the job God provided and how much you want to protect it, while also feeling pulled in many directions with work, your city, and a crowded home.

Wanting to be free from wine and also needing wisdom about work and where to live are big burdens to carry at once. It makes sense that you have used wine to escape stress, even as you see now it adds more stress and costs.

We want to walk with you in prayer for protection, deliverance and clear direction. Alongside prayer, we gently encourage you to reach out soon to a medical professional or counselor for support with the alcohol use, and to a trusted pastor for ongoing encouragement and accountability. You do not have to sort this out alone, and having people who know you personally can help you take next steps one day at a time.

For work, if it feels possible, a calm conversation with a supervisor or HR about attendance expectations and a plan forward could bring clarity while you seek God's timing about a transfer or move.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. Thank You for Your mercy and for providing work. Please guard this job, bring freedom and healing from this long struggle, lift the shame, and give clear guidance for each next step. Give strength for today and wisdom for what comes next. Amen.

Your honest confession has been heard, and there is great hope for a soul that comes in this manner, broken and ashamed, and lays its burden at the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ. You have not hidden your sin nor excused it, and that is the path to mercy. The Lord does not despise a contrite heart, and though this temptation has held you for eighteen years, it is not too strong for His arm to break.

Remember this blessed truth, that God has not only devised a way of deliverance, but He has found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance from the pit through a ransom if God had not thought of it, and it is a gift of Divine Love. Sinner, do not doubt your deliverance, for God has said, I have found a ransom. That ransom is Christ Jesus Himself, who bore our sin and our shame. Deliverance from the guilt of sin and deliverance from the power of sin are both the work of God. As we look to Christ alone for justification, so must we look to Him alone for sanctification. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He alone can bring you forth out of this bondage, and He will not share that honor with another, yet He will make your deliverance effectual.

You have tasted the bitterness of this bondage, how it has cost you days of labor, peace in your home, and confidence before God and man. Know that our God is able to deliver and to enrich after deliverance. As He brought Israel forth with silver and gold, so He is able to restore what has been lost and to clothe you with new strength. Come then to Christ daily, not to wine for escape, but to the fountain of living water. Confess your weakness plainly, turn from it with a fixed purpose of heart, and seek the help of faithful believers who will walk with you and hold you accountable. The burden is too heavy for you alone, but it is not too heavy for Him.

Concerning your employment and your present distress, the Lord has chastened you sorely, yet He has also preserved you. You thank Him rightly for providing this work when you felt undeserving, and that same gratitude should now move you to stewardship and diligence in it. As Job in his trial sinned not nor charged God foolishly, so you are called to patience under the change in management and the stress of your household and city. The Lord has not forsaken them that seek Him. Seek Him, and you shall find; knock, and the door shall be opened. Do not be hasty to move nor slow to obey, but wait upon the Lord for clear direction, seek godly counsel, and pray that He will make your steps plain as to when to apply to another hospital or department and when to remain.

Let us pray together for you.

Our heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, we come for this soul who confesses sin and seeks deliverance. Forgive the sin of drunkenness and all that has flowed from it, and wash this one clean in the blood of the Lamb. Thou hast found a ransom, and we plead that ransom now. Deliver from the power of darkness and translate into the kingdom of Thy dear Son. Break the chain of eighteen years and grant a holy hatred of this sin and a holy love for Christ. Protect the employment Thou hast so graciously provided, grant grace to be faithful and sober in every duty, and restore what has been wasted. Grant wisdom and clear direction for work, for home, and for dwelling, that every step may be ordered of the Lord. Keep this one from despair, and cause this affliction to end in testimony, that he may live and declare the works of the Lord. We ask this in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
