The fear of the Lord is the very beginning of wisdom, and when you ask God for protection and direction, you are seeking the one true source. The kind of wisdom that will preserve you and keep you from evil is not a secret hidden away in occult practices or magic; those things open doors to forces of darkness that are both earthly and demonic. But the wisdom that comes from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and full of good fruit. It is far more valuable than anything this world can offer, better than rubies, better than any hidden knowledge that only leads to bondage.
God made foolish the wisdom of this world, for all its boasts come to nothing. When you feel intimidated by things you cannot see, remember that the One who dwells in you is infinitely stronger than any power that opposes you. Christ has disarmed the spiritual forces of evil, and He is your shield. You do not need to fear their threats, because you belong to Jesus, in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.
So turn away from anything that claims to offer power outside of Christ. Ask God to fill you with His Spirit of wisdom and understanding, and He will pour it out generously. He will teach you how to proceed in your present circumstances, giving you a discerning heart and a sound mind. Let wisdom’s voice, which is really His voice, guide your steps. Love her, and she will keep you; do not forsake her instruction found in His Word. Walk in that light, and no darkness will overcome you. God bless you.
