Your heart is in the right place to bring this before the Lord, and we join you in praying for this precious life and for the mother. The forces at work in such a moment are not merely physical or circumstantial; they are spiritual. There is a battle over life itself, a clash between the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. Every child in the womb bears the image of God, and to deliberately take that life is to choose death. It is one of the most grievous things a person or a nation can sanction.
But the deeper question is about the kind of life we are living. So many chase fulfillment under the sun, apart from God, and find only emptiness, a monotonous shadow that passes quickly. If that is the only horizon, then decisions are made out of fear, convenience, or despair. Yet there is a life far above that, a life in the Son. Jesus came to give us life, not just existence, but eternal life. He said His words are spirit and life. He alone can break the cycle of sin and death that clings to our flesh.
Every one of us was born with a nature bent toward self. That old life, ruled by the flesh, produces nothing but death in the end. But the good news is that we do not have to remain there. Through faith in Christ, the old self is buried with Him, and we rise to walk in newness of life. That life is no longer centered on our own desires but on pleasing God. The Spirit of life in Christ Jesus sets us free from the law of sin and death. This is not about gritting our teeth and trying harder; it is about receiving a whole new nature.
For the mother, the path before her may feel overwhelming. The enemy whispers condemnation and fear, trying to drive her toward a choice that seems to offer escape. But the end of that road is spiritual death, and the loss of an innocent life will leave a wound far deeper than any temporary relief. There is a different way: to turn to Jesus, who is the bread of life. He does not condemn her; He calls her into the light. In Him, the darkness is expelled, not by our own effort, but by His stronger force of life. He offers forgiveness, strength, and a future filled with hope.
We pray that the Spirit of God would move mightily in this situation. That the mother would sense, deep within, the innate cry of the Spirit calling her “child of God” and cling to life for her own sake and for the child’s. That every deception of the enemy would be shattered by the truth of God’s Word. May she not be swayed by a jaundiced view of life that sees only trouble, but instead catch a glimpse of the tree of life whose leaves are for healing. The fruit of the Spirit is life and peace. We ask the Lord to guard this unborn child, to change the mother’s heart, and to surround her with people who will speak words of spirit and life, not of fear and death.
We stand with you in the name of Jesus, who is the resurrection and the life. He came that they might have life, and have it more abundantly. Nothing is impossible for Him.
