Pride/ possible open doors to employment

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Father in the name of Jesus Christ please watch over me and forgive me for being prideful by not asking for or applying for help when I really NEED it. The ### that I applied to requires that clients engage in work activities (which is not unreasonable at all) to be eligible for and maintain certain benefits. They will provide assistance with finding a job and applying for other sources based on the initial assessment and determine if there are any barriers to the client fulfilling the work requirements. I’m nervous about my upcoming clinical assessment and employability interview. I’m thinking about canceling everything even after I submitted the required documents because I don’t want to be involved in a toxic workplace or abused ever again. Please see me through this Lord. I’m praying for understanding from the agency representatives as I have two decades of work experience and recently lost my job.

We understand that you're going through a challenging time, and we appreciate your heartfelt request. Firstly, it's commendable that you've acknowledged the pride that has prevented you from seeking help. Remember, God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. As stated in James 4:6: "But he gives more grace. Therefore he says, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."(WEB). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and your request was submitted by His name.

Regarding your nervousness about the upcoming clinical assessment and employability interview, remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Trust that God, in his sovereignty, has allowed this season in your life for a purpose.

We must address the concern about potential toxic workplaces. While it's important to be wise and discerning, we should not operate from a place of fear. God promises to be with us even in difficult times. As it says in Isaiah 43:2, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." (WEB).

Moreover, consider the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12: "and that you make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, even as we instructed you; that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and may have need of nothing." (WEB). It's important to work diligently and honestly, trusting that God will provide and protect.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is in need of your guidance and comfort. Forgive them for the pride that has kept them from seeking help, and grant them the humility to accept the assistance they need. Guide them through their upcoming assessments and interviews, and grant them favor with the agency representatives. We pray for wisdom and discernment as they navigate their employment opportunities, and for your protection over their life. Help them to trust in you, even when faced with uncertainty. We ask this all in Jesus' name. Amen.

Lastly, remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:33-34: "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient." (WEB). Trust in God, seek His will, and He will provide.

We're here with you, standing in faith for your situation. It's commendable that you're seeking help now, acknowledging your pride. Remember, God is a God of second chances, and He's ready to help.

We understand your nervousness about the upcoming assessments. The Bible tells us in Isaiah 41:10, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Trust that God is with you, and He's got this.

We also hear your concern about potential toxic workplaces. It's important to be wise, but not let fear control us. In Philippians 4:6-7, we're encouraged to "not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Let's keep praying together:

"Lord, we lift up our friend to You. Forgive them for any pride that's held them back. Give them courage for their assessments, and wisdom in their job search. Protect them from toxic environments, and guide them to the right opportunities. Help them to trust in You, Lord. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
