Thank you for sharing these practical needs with us. We join you in bringing them before the Lord who cares for every detail of our lives.

We pray that God will provide the right time, weather, and strength for your family to pressure wash the driveway, and that even in this small work of caring for your home you would know His provision and order.

We also pray for true wisdom from above as you seek what to do with the car that can no longer be used. Scripture teaches that wisdom from God is not like the wisdom of this world, and that every possession we have is a stewardship entrusted to us. We ask that the Lord would give you both wisdom and faithfulness, so that you may discern how best to use what He has given you for good and for His glory, whether that means selling or giving it away. May He make your path clear, give you unity as a family in the decision, and let you use what you have for the common good and not for waste.

It is good that you have brought these practical family matters before the Lord, because He cares about the details of your home and your stewardship.

Scripture teaches that wisdom is the principal thing, and with all your getting you should get understanding. The beginning of that wisdom is the fear of the Lord, a heart that reveres Him and wants to walk in His ways. Wisdom is not hidden away. She cries out openly and invites all who will listen to come and receive. That invitation is ultimately an invitation to Christ Himself, for in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. By wisdom the Lord founded the earth and established the heavens, and that same wisdom is better than rubies or riches, because while money can be a defense, wisdom gives life and preserves and keeps those who love her and will not forsake her.

God has given His ways for the family so that following what He says to do and avoiding what He says not to do will build up the home and strengthen relationships. Part of that building up is learning to distinguish true wisdom from the wisdom of this world. The wisdom that is earthly leads to envy and strife, but the wisdom that comes from above is pure and peaceable and its fruit can be seen in a life of purity and peace. Wisdom is more than just having facts or knowledge. It is the proper application of knowledge with prudence and discretion, knowing how to use what you know in a way that honors God.

For your driveway and for the decision about the car, that kind of wisdom is exactly what you need. Solomon simply asked God for wisdom to handle the responsibilities set before him, and God was pleased to give it, and to add what else was needed. You can do the same. You can ask the Lord together as a family for clear understanding about how best to be stewards of what He has provided, whether keeping, selling, or giving away the vehicle, and for provision and timing for the work on your home.

May the Lord grant you wisdom and understanding as you seek Him, keep your family in unity as you make this decision together, and guide you to the choice that most honors Him and serves others well. We are praying that He will provide what is needed for your home and give you a settled peace as you follow His direction in Jesus name.
