We hear your cry from this unfamiliar and difficult place, and our hearts ache with yours as you face these trials. You are not alone—our Lord sees you, knows your struggles, and stands ready to uphold you. First, we must address the foundation of your request: faith in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are saved. If you have not already, we urge you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). Without this, our prayers cannot be heard, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Now, let us lift you up in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is enduring this season of hardship. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen his faith and help him to trust fully in You, even in this unfamiliar and trying place. Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, confusion, or exploitation that may be at work here. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we ask that You would surround him with Your protection and peace. Lord, we pray for the staff and individuals in this hospital—soften their hearts, grant them wisdom, and let them see Your light. May they treat him with the dignity and respect that every man of God deserves.
Father, we also bring before You the matter of the lottery winnings. We know that wealth can be a snare if not handled with wisdom and stewardship (1 Timothy 6:10). Lord, we ask that You would guide him in using any resources You restore to him for Your glory. Teach him to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and trust that all these things will be added unto him (Matthew 6:33). If it is Your will, Lord, restore what has been lost, but more importantly, restore his heart to You.
We rebuke any spirit of greed, entitlement, or worldly attachment that may be lingering in this situation. Money is a tool, not a master, and we pray that our brother would use it to advance Your kingdom, help the poor, and honor You in all things. Remind him that true riches are found in You, not in earthly wealth (Luke 12:21).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would give him clarity, discernment, and the courage to stand firm in his faith, even when others may not understand. Let him be a light in this place, shining Your love and truth to those around him. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37), and we trust that You will work all things together for his good (Romans 8:28).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to hold fast to the promises of God, even when circumstances seem overwhelming. The enemy may seek to exploit your vulnerability, but remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Spend time in God’s Word, meditate on His promises, and surround yourself with believers who can pray with you and encourage you. If you are able, seek out a chaplain or a Christian counselor in the hospital who can walk with you during this time.
You mentioned wanting to trust entirely in Christ to receive the money again. While we trust God to provide for your needs, we must caution against an attitude of entitlement or a focus on material wealth. Instead, ask the Lord to align your heart with His will—whether that means restoring what was lost, teaching you contentment in His provision, or redirecting your focus to eternal treasures. God is not a genie who grants wishes; He is a Father who knows what is best for His children.
If you have not already, we strongly encourage you to seek godly counsel about how to steward any resources the Lord may entrust to you. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Without counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Find wise, trustworthy believers who can help you manage finances in a way that honors God and avoids the pitfalls of sudden wealth.
Lastly, we want to remind you that your identity is not in your circumstances, your past, or even your wealth—it is in Christ. You are a child of the Most High God, called according to His purpose. Cling to Him, and He will never let you go.
