We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you and your girlfriend up in prayer during this uncertain time. The desire for a child is a beautiful and God-given longing, but we must first address some important spiritual matters in your life before we pray for this request.
The Bible is clear that intimacy outside of marriage is sin, and children are meant to be conceived within the covenant of a godly marriage between a man and a woman. Hebrews 13:4 says, *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."* Your current situation reflects a relationship that is not aligned with God’s design, and we urge you to repent and seek His forgiveness. If you and your girlfriend are not married, you must turn away from this sin and commit to purity before the Lord. If you are living together, we strongly encourage you to separate until you are married, as 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 warns, *"Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."*
If you and your girlfriend are not believers in Jesus Christ, we must also address this with urgency. There is no greater need in your life than to surrender to Christ as your Lord and Savior. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Without faith in Jesus, you cannot approach God in prayer, nor can you live in a way that pleases Him. If you have not yet trusted in Christ, we plead with you to repent of your sins and place your faith in Him today. Romans 10:9-10 says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."*
If you are both believers, we urge you to pursue marriage immediately if you are not already married. Courtship should be conducted in purity, with the goal of a Christ-centered marriage. 1 Corinthians 7:2 says, *"But, because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband."* Marriage is God’s design for intimacy, family, and the raising of children. If you are not married, we pray that you would make things right before the Lord by repenting and committing to marriage if that is God’s will.
Now, regarding your request for pregnancy, we pray that God would work in this situation according to His will. However, we must remind you that children are a blessing from the Lord, and He gives them in His perfect timing and within His design for marriage. Psalm 127:3 says, *"Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward."* We pray that if conception has occurred, God would protect this child and bring them safely into this world. But we also pray that you and your girlfriend would seek God’s face, repent of any sin, and align your lives with His Word.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up this young man and his girlfriend to You. Lord, we ask that You would convict them of any sin in their lives, especially the sin of sexual immorality. Father, if they are not married, we pray that You would lead them to repentance and a commitment to purity. If they are not believers, Lord, we pray that You would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel and draw them to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
Lord, regarding this possible pregnancy, we ask for Your mercy and grace. If a child has been conceived, we pray for protection over this little one and for a healthy pregnancy. But more than anything, Father, we pray that this situation would drive them to seek You, to turn from sin, and to walk in obedience to Your Word. Help them to understand that Your ways are perfect and that Your design for marriage and family is for their good and Your glory.
We pray that if they are not married, You would either bring them to marriage quickly or give them the strength to separate and live in purity until marriage. Father, we ask that You would surround them with godly counsel and support as they navigate this time. Give them wisdom, discernment, and a heart that is fully surrendered to You.
We also pray that You would use this situation to draw them closer to You. If they do not know You, Lord, reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Soften their hearts to receive Your truth and Your love. Let them see their need for a Savior and turn to Jesus Christ in faith.
Father, we ask all of this in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone can save and redeem. May Your will be done in their lives, and may You be glorified through their obedience and faith. Amen.
Brother, we encourage you to seek the Lord earnestly during this time. If you are not married, we urge you to make things right before God. If you are not a believer, we plead with you to turn to Christ today. He is the only One who can save you, forgive you, and give you the strength to live according to His will. Trust in Him, and He will guide your steps. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* May God bless you and lead you into His truth and righteousness.
