Praying to get my car back

Disciple of Prayer
Dear Father in heaven I've been seeking you and your wisdom, and knowledge along with help with my finances and pointing me in the right direction with myself. Unfortunately I lost my job 8 months ago, then the government was shut down for 2 months, so I was already behind 2 months to get my unemployment started, I called the car place to let them know and to be up front with them, and they didn't even offer me any kind of hardship, I was already applying for work and trying to survive for 2 months on no income. Then I called the car place back after the two months and had to ask them if they had any kind of programs to help but they really didn't. It's kind of sad that I have been a repeated car buyer from this group; this was my 2nd car through them so you would think that there would be customer loyalty, but I was wrong. Regardless, they didn't seem like they cared less about my hardship. My first car was a 2019 Honda HR-V and it got smashed by my neighbor's tree during the Micro-Burst that happened and I couldn't do anything about it because in Ohio, it's called an ACT OF GOD. So unfortunately my car was totaled and that wasn't my fault. This time being out of work for 8 months I guess that's what happened. Everything just snowballed and I had to pay property taxes in order to stay at my home or get the house taken away. I feel like I can't get back on track since the Act of God smashing my car and trying to put myself together. Please pray for me and Thank you in Advance, Thank God in Jesus's name, Amen.

We hear your cry, and we lift you up before the throne of grace, where we find mercy and help in time of need. Your situation is heavy—job loss, financial strain, the loss of your car, and the weight of property taxes threatening your home. Yet even in this, we know that God is our provider, and He sees every detail of your struggle. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* This is not just a promise; it is a truth we stand on together.

First, we must address the foundation of your prayer. You closed in Jesus' name, and that is essential, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father. Acts 4:12 reminds us, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* Jesus is not just a name we tag onto our prayers—He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him. We rejoice that you recognize this, and we pray that your faith in Him remains steadfast, even when circumstances seem overwhelming.

Now, let us rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that has tried to take root in your heart. The enemy would love for you to believe that you are defeated, that you cannot recover from this, and that God has abandoned you. But we declare that this is a lie! Psalm 34:19 says, *"Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* You are not forgotten. You are not forsaken. God is working even when you cannot see it, and He will make a way where there seems to be no way.

We also rebuke the hardness of heart displayed by the car dealership. Customer loyalty should reflect the love and faithfulness of Christ, yet they failed to show even basic compassion. Proverbs 22:1 warns, *"A good name is more desirable than great riches, and loving favor is better than silver and gold."* Their lack of integrity will not go unnoticed by the Lord. We pray that God would soften their hearts and that He would provide justice for you, whether through the return of your car or another miraculous provision.

We lift up your finances before the Lord, asking Him to open doors of opportunity that no man can shut. You have been diligent in seeking work, and we believe that God honors your efforts. Proverbs 16:3 says, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* We pray that He would guide your steps to the right job, one that not only meets your needs but also aligns with His purpose for your life. If there are any areas where you have not fully surrendered your finances to Him—perhaps fear, anxiety, or even bitterness over past losses—we encourage you to release those to Him now. Trust that He is your provider, and His ways are higher than ours.

Regarding your car, we pray that God would either restore what was taken or provide something even better. We serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too difficult for Him. Whether He moves the heart of the dealership to work with you, provides a new opportunity to purchase a vehicle, or sends help from an unexpected source, we believe He will make a way. In the meantime, we encourage you to seek wisdom in managing your current resources. Proverbs 21:5 says, *"The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty."* If there are areas where you can cut expenses or find temporary solutions (such as public transportation, carpooling, or even selling items you no longer need), ask God to show you those steps.

We also pray for your home and the property taxes that threaten it. Losing your home would be devastating, but we declare that God is your shelter and your strong tower. Psalm 91:1-2 says, *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'" We ask that God would provide the funds needed to keep your home, whether through a job, a gift, or a miraculous intervention. If there are local resources, churches, or organizations that can assist with property taxes or financial counseling, we pray that God would connect you with them.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing overwhelming challenges. Lord, You see every detail of their struggle—the job loss, the financial strain, the loss of their car, and the threat to their home. But we know that You are not a God who abandons Your children. You are the God who parts the Red Sea, who provides manna in the wilderness, and who raises the dead to life. We ask that You would move mightily on their behalf.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that has tried to take hold. We declare that this is not the end of their story. You are making a way where there seems to be no way. We ask that You would open doors of opportunity for employment, that You would provide the funds needed to keep their home, and that You would restore or replace their car in a way that glorifies Your name. Lord, if there are any areas where they have not fully surrendered to You—whether in fear, anxiety, or bitterness—we ask that You would soften their heart and help them to trust You completely.

We also pray for the car dealership that failed to show compassion. Lord, we ask that You would either soften their hearts to work with them or provide another avenue for them to regain transportation. We pray that You would expose any injustice and bring about a resolution that reflects Your love and mercy.

Father, we ask that You would surround them with godly community—people who can offer support, encouragement, and practical help. Protect them from isolation and loneliness, and remind them that they are never alone because You are always with them.

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. We thank You that You are working even when we cannot see it. We declare that this season of lack will not last forever. You are their provider, their healer, and their deliverer. We trust You to turn their mourning into dancing and their sorrow into joy.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises. This is not the end of your story—it is merely a chapter, and God is writing a testimony of His faithfulness through you. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep moving forward one step at a time. He will not fail you.

Dear friend,

We're here for you, standing with you in this tough time. We feel your struggle - the job loss, the financial strain, the car, and now the threat to your home. It's a lot to bear, but remember, God sees you. He's right there with you, and He cares deeply.

We want to encourage you with a verse from 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

God is a God of comfort. He's not distant or uncaring. He's right here, ready to comfort you in your troubles. And not only that, but He wants to use your comfort to help others in the future.

We also want to remind you of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God is a healer. He sees your heartache, and He wants to heal it. Trust in His healing power.

We're praying for you, dear friend. We're asking God to open doors for you, to provide for your needs, and to comfort your heart. We're believing with you for a turnaround in your situation.

Keep trusting in God. Keep seeking Him. He's got you, and He's working things out for your good.
