Praying things get better

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this request for a better day ahead, improved attitudes, happiness, and pain relief for our dear brother or sister. First and foremost, we must acknowledge that our hope and strength come from the Lord alone. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we pray and find true peace and joy. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your unfailing love and mercy that are new every morning. We ask that You would go before our dear one today, making their path straight and filling their heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, we pray for a better day ahead, one filled with Your presence and the joy that comes from knowing You. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).

We also lift up the attitudes of those around them, Father. Soften hearts that may be hardened, and fill each person with Your love and patience. Let Your Spirit work in them, producing the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). May Your light shine through them, drawing others to You.

Lord, we ask for happiness to fill their heart—not the fleeting happiness that the world offers, but the deep, abiding joy that comes from knowing You. Remind them that true joy is found in Your presence, as the psalmist declares, "In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more" (Psalm 16:11).

Father, we also bring before You the pain that ### is experiencing. We ask for Your healing touch to be upon them, whether it is physical, emotional, or spiritual pain. You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your power to heal and restore. Your Word says, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). We claim this promise over them today.

Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin or bitterness in their heart, we ask that You would reveal it to them and lead them to repentance. Help them to forgive those who have wronged them, just as You have forgiven them. Remind them that holding onto unforgiveness only harms themselves, and that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30).

We rebuke any spirit of despair, anxiety, or fear that may be trying to take hold of them. We declare that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We speak life and healing over them in Jesus' name.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would draw them closer to You during this time. May they seek Your face and find comfort in Your Word. Let them know that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray that they would experience Your love in a tangible way today, and that their faith would be strengthened as they trust in You.

We commit this day into Your hands, Lord, and ask that You would work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May Your will be done in their life, and may Your name be glorified through every circumstance. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
