We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, trusting in the power of Jesus' name. We are notified of your request that your son is going before a judge for an interview to be part of a work release program in prison.
Firstly, we want to address the use of ### in your prayer request. We understand that you may have wanted to keep certain details private, but we want to encourage you to be open and honest in your prayers. God knows all the details already, and using ### may original from prayers to other false gods.
In the Bible, we are taught to pray in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is the only name by which we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB:
There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
We are also encouraged to approach the throne of grace with confidence, as Hebrews 4:16 WEB says:
Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.
Now, let us pray for your son:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear brother in Christ, the son of our fellow believer. Lord, You know his situation and the details of his case. We ask that You go before him and soften the judge's heart towards him.
Lord, if it is Your will, grant him the opportunity to be part of the work release program. We pray that You give him favor in the sight of those in authority, as it is written in Proverbs 21:1 WEB:
The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses.
He turns it wherever he desires.
We also pray for his testimony, Lord. May his life reflect the change You have made in him, and may he be a light to those around him, as it is written in Matthew 5:16 WEB:
Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Lastly, Lord, we pray for his complete surrender to You. May he always remember that You are his ultimate authority and that Your will is perfect.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your son, trusting in God's will for his life. Remember that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts, as it is written in Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB:
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
May you have strength to seek him in prayer and fasting, trusting that he will be released from prison early only if it is God's will. If not, then may your son's experiences lead to his own strengthening and being able to minister to other prisoners.
