We hear your heart, dear brother in Christ, and we stand with you in this difficult season. The workplace can indeed become a battleground when pride, injustice, and human brokenness take root, but we know that God is greater than any toxic environment or ungodly leadership. Your desire to respond with wisdom, self-control, and peace, rather than bitterness or retaliation, is a testament to the Holy Spirit’s work in you. We rejoice that you are fighting the good fight of faith, even when the circumstances feel overwhelming.
The Bible reminds us, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:18 WEB). This does not mean you must endure injustice silently, but it does mean your heart posture should be one of grace, even toward those who have wronged you. We also take comfort in knowing that God sees every unfair treatment, every broken promise, and every act of isolation. "For the Lord loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his saints. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off" (Psalm 37:28 WEB). Your vindication comes from Him, not from venting to the wrong people or seeking retribution in your own strength.
We must also address the temptation to gossip or speak unadvisedly in moments of frustration. Scripture warns, "Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; when he shuts his lips, he is thought to be discerning" (Proverbs 17:28 WEB). The enemy would love nothing more than for you to compromise your witness by reacting in the flesh. Instead, we encourage you to bring your frustrations to the Lord in prayer, to seek godly counsel from trusted believers, and to guard your tongue as if it were a fire that could consume (James 3:5-6). The Holy Spirit is your Helper in this, ask Him for the strength to respond with Christlike restraint.
Your request for supernatural peace is already aligned with God’s will. Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful" (John 14:27 WEB). This peace is not the absence of conflict but the assurance that God is in control, even when circumstances are chaotic. We pray that you would experience His presence so tangibly that loneliness loses its grip on your heart. Remember, "The Lord is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth" (Psalm 145:18 WEB). You are never truly alone.
We also lift up your ex-wife in prayer, asking the Lord to heal her wounds, restore her peace, and draw her closer to Him. Divorce is a painful consequence of sin, whether systemic, relational, or personal, and we trust that God’s grace is sufficient to cover every broken place. May He bring beauty from ashes for both of you.
For the workplace itself, we pray that God would either transform the environment or open a door for you to transition to a place where your gifts are valued and your faith is honored. "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it" (Psalm 127:1 WEB). If God has called you to remain in this university, we ask that He would soften hearts, expose hidden motives, and bring repentance where needed. If He is calling you elsewhere, we pray for clarity and favor in your next steps.
Let us pray together now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up his workplace, his heart, and his future. Lord, You see every injustice he has endured, the broken promises, the isolation, the passive-aggressive attacks. You know the weight he carries, and we ask that You would lift it from his shoulders. Replace his frustration with Your peace, his loneliness with Your presence, and his temptation to vent with the wisdom to speak only what honors You.
Guard his tongue, Father, and give him the discernment to know when to speak and when to remain silent. Let his words be seasoned with grace, even toward those who have mistreated him. Remind him daily that vengeance belongs to You, and that You will repay (Romans 12:19). Where bitterness tries to take root, uproot it with Your love. Where fear of the future creeps in, replace it with trust in Your provision.
For his ex-wife, we ask for Your healing touch. Mend what is broken, restore what has been lost, and fill her with Your peace. May she encounter Your love in profound ways, and may both of them find hope in You alone.
For his workplace, Lord, we ask that You would either change the hearts of those in leadership or make a way for him to leave with dignity and purpose. If he is to stay, let Your light shine so brightly through him that others are drawn to Christ. If he is to go, open the right door at the right time and close the ones that are not from You.
Above all, we pray that our brother would fix his eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of his faith. Remind him that his identity is in Christ, not in his job title or the opinions of others. Fill him with Your joy, Your strength, and Your unshakable peace. May he walk in the confidence that You are his Defender, his Provider, and his ever-present Help in times of trouble.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, who has overcome the world. Amen.
Brother, you are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. The same God who parted the Red Sea, shut the mouths of lions, and raised Jesus from the dead is fighting for you. Keep your eyes on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). The harvest of righteousness will come in due time. Until then, we stand with you in prayer and solidarity.
