Praying for no pregnancy.

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Heavenly father, I am praying for my ### not to be pregnant. We did not have sex but it was very close and it is possible that there is a pregnancy. I know this is your will but bringing a child into this world or getting rid of a child would be unfair to them in my current situation, and they would not get a good upbringing. I know this is of our own doing but please show mercy to us. I surrender my sins to you and I repent for my sexual impurity. Please I ask for forgiveness and I repent. I am praying that this is well received and that she does not get pregnant. In Jesus name, Amen.

We come before you with hearts burdened by this request, knowing that God’s Word is clear about the sanctity of life and the call to purity. First, we commend you for acknowledging your sin and seeking repentance, for Scripture tells us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB). True repentance means turning away from sin and walking in obedience to Christ, and we pray that this is the beginning of a transformed life for you.

However, we must address the gravity of what has been shared. The fear of pregnancy reveals that boundaries were crossed—boundaries that God has set for our protection and His glory. The Bible is clear: *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB). What you describe as "very close" is a dangerous place to be, for temptation leads to sin, and sin has consequences—spiritual, emotional, and sometimes physical. We urge you to flee from such situations entirely, for *"Can a man scoop fire into his lap, and his clothes not be burned?"* (Proverbs 6:27, WEB). The only safe path is one of purity, honoring God with your body and relationships.

As for the fear of pregnancy, we must also speak truth in love. Life is a precious gift from God, and every child is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:13-16). While the circumstances may feel overwhelming, God is sovereign over all things, including the creation of life. To pray against a potential pregnancy out of fear or convenience is to question God’s goodness and provision. Instead, we should trust Him in all things, knowing that *"all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose"* (Romans 8:28, WEB). If a child were to be conceived, it would not be a mistake in God’s eyes, but a life entrusted to you by Him. We do not pray for the absence of life, but we do pray for wisdom, strength, and a heart fully surrendered to God’s will—whatever that may be.

We also notice that you mentioned "we" in your prayer, implying that this sin involved another person. If you are not married, then this relationship is outside of God’s design for intimacy, which is reserved for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4). We strongly encourage you to step back from this relationship if it is leading you into temptation. Courtship, if pursued, should be done with the intent of honoring God and seeking marriage, not indulging in the passions of the flesh. If the other person is not a believer, Scripture is clear: *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). A relationship that does not point both of you toward Christ is not a relationship worth pursuing.

Lastly, we are grateful that you prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is in His name that we find forgiveness and grace. If you have not fully surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Repentance is not just sorrow for sin but a turning toward God, trusting in Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for your salvation. *"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB).

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift this brother before You, knowing that You are a God of mercy, grace, and truth. We thank You that he has come to You in repentance, and we ask that You would grant him a heart fully turned away from sin and toward You. Lord, forgive him for the sexual immorality that has taken place, and cleanse him from all unrighteousness. Give him the strength to flee from temptation and to walk in purity, honoring You with his body and his relationships.

Father, we also pray for the woman involved in this situation. Soften her heart toward You, and if she does not know You, draw her to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. If this relationship is not pleasing to You, we ask that You would bring conviction and separation, for Your glory and their good.

Lord, we trust You with the outcome of this fear of pregnancy. You are the giver of life, and we acknowledge that all things are in Your hands. If a child has been conceived, we pray that You would provide the grace, strength, and resources needed to raise that child in a way that honors You. If not, we pray that this would be a wake-up call to walk in obedience and holiness.

Father, surround this brother with godly community—men who will encourage him, hold him accountable, and point him to You. Fill him with Your Spirit, that he may produce the fruit of righteousness in his life. Give him wisdom to make decisions that align with Your Word, and grant him peace that surpasses all understanding as he trusts in You.

We rebuked the enemy’s lies that would lead him to believe that Your ways are too hard or that sin is without consequence. Instead, let him know the joy of walking in Your will, the freedom of a clean conscience, and the hope of eternal life in Christ.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who lived without sin, died for our sins, and rose again that we might have life abundantly. Amen.

We're here for you, sister. We understand the fear and uncertainty you're feeling right now. We want you to know that God is with you, and He cares deeply about your situation.

First, let's turn to God's Word for comfort and guidance. In Psalm 147:3, we read, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God sees your heartache, and He wants to heal you. Trust in His love and care for you.

Now, let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, laying down our fears and anxieties about this situation. We ask for Your mercy and grace, just as we've seen in the life of King David. Even when he fell into sexual sin, You forgave him and restored him (Psalm 51).

Father, we ask for a miracle. We ask that if a new life has been created, You would protect it and guide us in Your perfect will. If it's not Your will for this child to be brought into the world at this time, we trust that You have a purpose and plan even in this.

Give us wisdom to navigate this situation, and grant us the strength to make choices that honor You. Help us to flee from temptation and walk in purity, as we've seen in the example of Joseph (Genesis 39:7-12).

Lord, we also lift up the other person involved. We ask that You would soften their heart towards You, and if they don't know You, we pray that they would come to know Jesus as their Savior.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
