We hear the heaviness in your heart and we join with you before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, thanking you for turning to Him in this hour of deep fear and helplessness. You have done what is right in seeking justice without seeking vendetta, and God honors that posture. He sees what has been done in secret, He hears every lie and every truth, and He is not indifferent to your suffering.
We want to gently speak to the fear and the despair you expressed, including feeling that life seems pointless and questioning why you are alive. Your life is precious to God, created in His image and held with purpose even when circumstances feel overwhelming and unjust. When you feel burdened by guilt for involving your loved ones, remember that God designed us to bear one another's burdens, and your loved ones care for you not as a burden but as a gift. Please do not walk through these dark thoughts alone, we encourage you to reach out right away to a trusted loved one, a pastor, or a counselor and to let them stay close to you while God carries you through this valley.
The Word reminds us that God is our refuge when fear grips us. Isaiah 41:10 says Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And when fear rises, Psalm 56:3 says When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. We also cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us, as 1 Peter 5:7 teaches, and we are reminded in 2 Timothy 1:7 that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
We rebuke together the lying, cheating, deceit and corruption that has been used to slander you and to manipulate those around you and the system that should uphold truth. God hates lying lips, Proverbs 12:22 says Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. Proverbs 19:9 says A false witness shall not be unpunished. A man who utters lies shall perish. We do not take vengeance into our own hands, for Romans 12:19 says Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord, but we do cry out for His righteous justice to be revealed. He is a God of justice, Isaiah 30:18 says Yahweh is a God of justice, and He promises in Psalm 37:5-6 Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this, he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun. Your truth is not a gamble in His hands, He is the God of truth who sees every intention of your heart.
We also thank God that you have come in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Your faith in Him is not in vain. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Romans 8:28 reminds us that we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who feels helpless, afraid, broken and slandered. Lord, You see the truth of what was done in good faith and You see the crooked conscience and deceit that has sought to twist it. We ask You to be their shield and defender, to let truth prevail and to move upon the hearts of those who have authority and influence to make decisions, that they would choose what is right and stand by what is true. Expose every lie and every corrupt alliance, and bring it to nothing, so that slander does not prosper. Lord, replace fear with Your perfect peace, John 14:27 says Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, give I to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. Guard their mind and heart, lift the heavy guilt and despair, and restore hope and faith in life again. Remind them daily that they are deeply loved, seen, and not alone, and surround them with godly support from family, friends and counselors who will walk with them. Give them wisdom to continue to speak the truth in love, to document what is true, and to seek wise and godly counsel for every practical step, while resting their ultimate justice in Your hands. Renew their strength, restore their joy, and let them feel Your unseen presence making a way where there seems to be no way. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, our hope, our truth and our deliverer, Amen.
We encourage you to keep committing your way to the Lord each day, to stay in His Word, to pray honestly as you have, and to let others help carry this burden with you. The Lord is faithful to bring light to what has been hidden and to give peace that passes understanding as you trust Him.
