We join with you in lifting up this precious person before the throne of grace, and we thank you for interceding so faithfully for them in Jesus' name. It is a beautiful and biblical thing to stand in the gap for another, asking for healing and deliverance, and we count it a privilege to agree with you in prayer.
We see the depth of what you are asking, for emotional healing, for confidence restored, for a mind delivered from dark thoughts, doubt, confusion and manipulation, and for healing from the deep wounds of childhood abandonment and past pain that have led to avoidance in relationships. The Lord sees these hurts and He cares deeply. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. He is close to those who are of a broken heart, and saves those who are of a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. We are reminded that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7, and that He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. Hebrews 13:5. Where abandonment has left a wound, His faithful presence brings restoration, for He says I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds. Jeremiah 30:17.
We also agree with you concerning deliverance from people who are not for them and who take advantage of them. Scripture warns us not to be deceived, for evil companionships corrupt good morals. 1 Corinthians 15:33, and we pray the Lord will surround this person with godly counsel and protect them from exploitative relationships. We pray too for the confusion and heaviness of mind to be lifted, for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace. 1 Corinthians 14:33, and we are called to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Romans 12:2, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5.
You mentioned witchcraft attacks directed at their thoughts, and we take this seriously, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12. Yet we take comfort that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4. We do not need to fear, for if we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, he will flee from us. James 4:7. We pray for the protection of the full armor of God over their mind and heart.
We are encouraged that you prayed specifically that they would have ears to hear the gospel and a softened heart toward Jesus. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Romans 10:17, and God promises to give a new heart and put a new spirit within. Ezekiel 36:26. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12. We pray that deferred hope would be brought into the light so healing and action can follow, and that the Lord would prosper them as their soul prospers. 3 John 1:2, and restore to them the years that have been lost. Joel 2:25.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to Your throne. We lift up this dear one to You. Lord, touch their heart with Your healing hand. Heal every hurt from the past, every wound of abandonment, and every pain that has held their thinking captive. Soften what has become hardened by sorrow and remove the hold that past trauma has over them. Fill them with Your perfect love which casts out fear. 1 John 4:18.
Lord, we ask You to restore their confidence to speak to others and to deliver their mind from every dark thought, doubt, confusion, and manipulation. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7. Renew their mind and make their thoughts obedient to Christ. Remove any influence that is not of You, and break every attack of witchcraft and every scheme of the enemy directed at their thoughts, in the mighty name of Jesus. Let no weapon formed against them prosper. Isaiah 54:17. Deliver them from every person who is not for them and who would take advantage of them, and lead them into fellowship that encourages them toward You.
Father, heal their avoidance that has come from childhood pain, teach them that You will never abandon them, and help them to walk in healthy, godly relationships. Bring hope deferred to the surface, Lord, and give them courage to take action where there has been delay. Cause them to prosper in the ways that honor You. Most of all, open their ears to hear the gospel, soften their heart, and open their mind to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Draw them to Yourself and make them whole.
We thank You, Father, that You hear our prayers and that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun. We trust You for complete restoration, for Your glory. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to intercede with perseverance, speaking truth in love and pointing this person gently to the Word of God and to fellowship with other believers. Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. We will continue to stand with you for their complete healing and salvation.
