We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your family and this urgent situation with your landlord. Father God, You see the distress and anxiety this eviction case has brought upon this family, and we ask that You move mightily in the heart of their landlord. You declare in Your Word, "The king’s heart is in the Lord’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires" (Proverbs 21:1 WEB). We pray that You would soften his heart, open his ears to their pleas, and grant him wisdom and compassion to work with them during this time.
Lord, we also lift up this family before You. We thank You that You have provided a way for them to catch up on their rent and that their circumstances have changed for the better. We pray that You would continue to sustain them, giving them peace and assurance that You are their Provider. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 WEB). Help them to trust in You fully, even when the situation feels uncertain.
Father, we ask that You would intervene in this legal matter. You are a God of justice and mercy, and we pray that this landlord would extend grace as You have so graciously extended it to us. If there is any pride, bitterness, or hardness of heart in him, we ask that You would break it and replace it with a spirit of understanding and reconciliation. Let this situation be resolved in a way that honors You and reflects Your love and kindness.
We also want to gently remind this family that their ultimate security is found in You, not in this earthly home. While we pray for them to keep their home, we also pray that they would place their trust in You above all else. Help them to remember that You are their true dwelling place, and in You, they will always have a home (Psalm 90:1 WEB).
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that is trying to take hold of this family. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who intercedes for us and through whom we have access to the Father. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it all. Amen.
